Do you make noises while you eat?

I need to think about something besides meth. So:
Do you make sounds pf pleasure while you eat? I mean real pleasure sounds. Quiet, vaguely orgasm-like sounds. My long lost gf did, and so does a woman at work. It seems unconscious to me. When I asked her (the woman at work) “good lunch, huh?”, she just stopped and said “Yeah, really good”.
That’s all.
Peace,
mangeorge

First of all, yes I do. Only when alone, with my best friend, or with my husband.

With my best friend, because she understands and does it too. With my husband because he says he likes when I do it. I wouldn’t do it around anyone else because I wouldn’t want to gross anyone out.

ETA: and why are you needing a distraction from thinking of meth? What’s goin’ on?

I might make yummy sounds if I’m eating a Schwartzwald Kirchetort.

If I accidentally put something way too hot in my mouth I point my face to the ceiling with my mouth wide open and go, “AH AH AH AH!”

Does that count?

The other firefighters at hubby’s station make fun of him for “making love to his food.”

No. I go out of my way to make sure that I don’t draw attention to myself. No slurping, no chewing loudly or with my mouth open, none of that stuff. Frankly, I find people who do that sort of thing to be utterly repellent. If that’s your thing, stay away from me while you’re eating.

If I’m eating on my own, no (short of burning myself & going “ouch” or “ahh”).

If I’m with hubby or my best friend, and I’m eating something neither of us have tried before and it’s really, really good I’ll go “Mmmmm”

Apart from that I try to avoid eating noises.

I sometimes do the whole ‘om nom nom nom’ thing, if I’m trying to be cute.

It’s considered good manners when eating ramen.

Only in front of SO or good friends. And only if the food is worth it.

In public? No. It’s kinda like eating buffalo wings or ribs…an activity best left to the privacy of one’s home.

If it’s especially nice food, I’ll sometimes show my appreciation by not suppressing my groans of delight, otherwise, I try to keep quiet.

Does burping count?

I have TMJ, hence I cannot help but make clunky noises when I eat. Aside from that, no.

Ditto.

No. I would have been left to the wolves if I’d ever made noises while eating as a child. Aside from that, it really squicks me out to hear people making noises like that while eating.

*I do slurp my ramen, though. Not loud, gross slurps, but audible, and only when in my own home or in the company of Asians.

Yes.

I love my grandma a whole lot, but I’ve seen her bloody death played out in Technicolor detail in my head many a time just because I sat next to her during a meal.

I’m sort of a loud swallower, particularly since my thyroid removal where they messed around in there. I have trouble swallowing certain types of things because of the texture - if it’s sort of slippery, it seems to spasm since the surgery. But other than that, no. When I’m in company, if I really like something I’ll make a remark about how good it is.

According to L’ilChief, I “chew loudly.”

My mouth is closed, I don’t slurp. I just bite and chew. He’s the only one who has ever mentioned it to me.

Maybe it’s because he’s a teenager and everything I do annoys him.

I remember that from when I was there in the mid 60s (Navy), yums and slurping at the noodle house. I loved it.

I’m with Doors, Beetle and Cell. I’m quiet and I really don’t enjoy eating in front of people either.
