Upon reading the thread title, I’m sure that only one activity came to mind. Weed, right? Because no one ever says “We partook in a game of Monopoly” or “I chose not to partake in the baseball game” Has anyone ever heard the word ‘partake’ used to mean anything other than toking?
What are some other words that are only used in one way, despite being perfectly suitable for other instances?
I’m not a smoker, so “partake” usually carries a religious connotation to me.
I don’t know, but the first thing I thought of when I read “partake” was pie. But I really like pie.
I assumed you meant whether or not we post in /b/.
I think of alcohol
Yeah, I imagine you only get the weed connotation if you’re into weed. Which I’m not, so I didn’t.
I also thought of alcohol (and that’s from someone who’s never done so).
This should have been the title line. Wait until this thread disappears in a few days and try again.
“In what?” was my only thought; weed never would’ve come up.
“Partake” just sounds like one of those quaint words that English gentlemen would say to one another in some smoky, stuffy lounge. Par for the course for thread titles here, in other words.
I totally thought of weed.

Alcohol
I thought of alcohol, but the only usage in my life is religious.
My first thought was Communion. (For non-Christians, that’s the bit where we eat Jesus’ body and drink his blood.)
I have tastes, you have kinks, they have proclivities.
I ran through a whole list of ‘wha?’ before deciding it was probably a pot question. But communion and alcohol other than communion wine came to mind first.
