Do you pick up stuff with your feet?

I wanted to vote for options two and three.

Also when I juggle, If I drop a sandbag or a club, I can kick it back into the arc, and make it look like a deliberate trick.

Not only can pick up a lot of stuff with my feet, I can fold my socks one into the other as I’m taking them off using only my toes.

Yes I can pick up a 4 lb IBM keyboard with my toes. I flush with my toes. My second toe is almost as long as the little finger of my hand and I wear XL gloves.

My feet are like an extra set of hands to me, when I’m in my house I constantly use them to pick up objects and throw them up to me, I’ll use them to shut the fridge while I’m facing the opposite way to shut the pantry door all kind of things. I’ve noticed to that my young children have begun copying me when I ask them to pick something up off the floor they try to use their feet like I do, my Wife doesn’t take part.

I’m merely an amateur compared to this lady though, truly amazing dexterity:

When people are born without arms, or lose them very young, the part of the brain that would control the arms and hands rededicates to the legs and feet. That’s why these people can literally use their feet like hands.

Yep, one reason I’m not fond of shoes is they inhibit the use of my feet for such purposes as grabbing and lifting things up to my hands.

I sure do. I also pet the kitties with my feet when it’s convenient.

Although, that will sometimes result in getting my toes bit.

Not so much anymore now that RA has messed with the joints in my toes, but in my younger days, with my super long thin toes, yup, I could pick up quite a few things with my toes/feet.

I used to be able to and then the plantar fasciitis took over.

I’ve occasionally described wearing shoes as “walking around with boxing gloves on my hands all day long”.

Hehehe, yes. I had a girlfriend who referred to some cats as “foot trained”. Some of them you can pet with your feet, some you are taking a chance with.

I feel largely the same way. I don’t usually wear socks, and I often slip my shoes off and walk barefoot at work (no one else is there to see the spectacle).
And I’m pretty happy to find that I’m possibly in the majority for one of the few times in my life. Thanks to everyone who voted and responded!

I can open doors with my feet, even those with round ball handles. I can clap with my feet too (using the backs), and interlace the toes on each foot (again, when my feet are back to back).

You’ve got something against socks?

When I pick up stuff with my feet, it’s not usually between my toes, but under them; as in, put base of toe over pencil, curl toes down towards ball of foot, lift. This would never work for a can but it works for pencils or clothes.

Not only can I pick things up with my toes, and fold my socks as I take them off, I can put my husband’s shoes on his feet (but not tie the laces). It freaks him out, though, so he won’t let me do it anymore.

I also taught myself to mouse with my foot back in my copyediting days. I needed to have both hands on the keyboard and it was a pain to have to stop and grab the mouse, so I just put the mousepad on the floor. I used the ball of my foot to move the mouse, and my toes to click the buttons. An extra plus to that was that no one in the office would touch my computer.

Only in my dreams…:frowning:
