Do you prefer steak or lobster?

Steak. Not even a fancy one either.

Lobster-no contest. I just don’t get the steak thing. Then again, I don’t get the bacon insanity either. Yes, it’s fatty and salty but so are potato chips and they taste better.

Now, I may be spoiled because of many years spent in the Northeast. Even fresh from the tank lobsters here in Virginia do not compare. But give me a good Maine lobster any day. Unfortunately, my one friend in Maine moved so I no longer have an excuse to visit the state. All I can say, though, is that I have never felt the urge to take a live cow on an airplane but have more than once picked up a couple of lobster on the way to the airport in Maine so that I could take them home and murder them for my dining enjoyment.

Crab is good too although I miss California and dungeness crab. Maryland crab always seems like it must be an inferior product hiding under all that Old Bay. Crawfish are excellent too, like mini lobsters. Just give me a big bowl of boiled crawfish and I’m happy. Damn I love shellfish (bivalves not so much).

A well-constructed shrimp po’boy is dad-gum good. A fried oyster po’boy is even better. A fried shrimp & oyster po’boy is best of all.
This guy knows how to make a great shrimp & oyster po’boy. Almost perfect in my book, except I like my po’boys hemorrhaging extra-spicy remoulade sauce.

I don’t know man…having a pail of steamed, old bay seasoned Chesapeake blue crabs served to your table that’s covered in newspaper, being handed a wooden mallet, a pile of napkins and a pitcher of cold beer is a pretty fond memory for me when I lived in the DC area.

Steak is excellent with a nice big dollop of garlic butter melting over it.

I heartily endorse this plan of action.

Steak by a mile.

We are just back from the yearly Caribbean visit, so we ate a few lobsters (very cheap). I would rank my preference: Steak, Atlantic Lobster, Caribbean Lobster.

Like other posters have said, I’ll eat steak if it’s on my plate, but in general I can take it or leave it.

Lobster, on the other hand, is a gift from the gods.

That is the one thing my husband craves over anything else. Unfortunately, we live in IL and there’s no way to duplicate one for him, is there?

As for steak vs. lobster, steak. I don’t even like lobster. At least not any I’ve had around here.

Damn, you got a good point there.:smack:
Steak may fight back… But I never had to fight one personally to get it on the grill:D:eek:
