I was going to post this in a different thread. Instead this is what I’m doing. I had Sydenhams Chorea in first grade and it did not go away. I’ve had these symptoms since then that I have never asked about because they are the minor ones. I had a immune system go into full attack mood starting in 2003 and 2004. I’ve only been able to start thinking again for about a year. What I recognize as myself didn’t come back until July this year. Now for what I’d like to have addressed. Do you recognize a symptom that these components belong too. They have been part of me since 1st grade.
I’ve always had good hearing. I can’t understand fast speech. I can’t understand moderate speech on a phone. I can not take a message down on paper from someone speaking in person or on the phone unless spoken slowly, and about four or five times for each individual sentence. This is one reason I am so adamant with people I work with that I can’t cover the phones for them. I can read without problems at a moderate rate if there are no distractions. I also need to hear a name about a hundred times before it comes to mind when I see them. I have always had the name blank out on best friends at random times. I used to have perfect recall of visual components of almost anything I ever saw done even 20 years down the road. Logic problems are a snap. I went to speech class one summer, and have always had to concentrate to speak properly, so I guess my speech interpretation center is screwed up. It’s the thing I’m having the most trouble with trying to recover from this illness that took me down. Some days my fingers go into transpose mood typing, on a bad day they type words I don’t even want to type and I can’t catch them looking at the sentence. To my eyes the sentence is what I want. I use a text to speech program to try and catch this, because I’m more likely to hear the error, but the program uses the same tones all the time, and I know them.
Can I be the first to chime in with “Seen a doctor at all?”
If you’re suffering still, has any medical practitioner had a look at your problems?
I’ve had this 38 years, and it’s not something I have brought up when seeing a doctor, since there are more important problems and my history is so extremely long. I also lost medical insurance in 2002 and haven’t seen adoctor for a year and a half. I can only go in for emergency services since this long illness has also left me way beyond broke. Don’t try taking this into a thread on our healthcare system please. I am curious as to if any known condition is indicated in general. It’s something I’m curious if someone recognizes, beyond saying it was caused by your 1st grade illness, because the doctors try to stick everything into that cause my whole life. The brain and it’s conditions are better understood, so I’m asking if this triggers anything in peoples thought. I was seeing many doctors many times a month for years, before the aggressive immune system did me in. The question is not for the recent problems though, It’s for the problems from childhood, that I grew up with. Autism, ADH, and Torettes were unknown by the doctors of my childhood.
You need to see a doctor. A good one. Not “many doctors many times a month.”
Since you don’t want anyone to turn this thread into a complaint about our health care system, I won’t.
Thanks for not going into the topic.
The doctors have been specialists that I saw over many years. I didn’t keep going to new ones all the time. I did seek out some new doctors in the same field after the others hadn’t a solution. I stayed with my general practictioner aabout ten years since it that’s forever to know what is from the past and consider it when diagnosing the problems that current and seperate.

I’m not a doctor and don’t recognize anything here that would connect to anything I’ve read. But I wonder if there isn’t a study group associated with one of the big research hospitals that would be interested in talking to you. You may want to Google Johns-Hopkins or some other big player and see if they have studies going on this sort of thing. They may be in the depths of research right now! Good luck.
