Do you remember "...do it..."

Miss Manners does it properly.

Electricians do it without shorts.

Librarians do it by the book.

Zombies always rise again.

In high school (mid 1990’s, so decades after the OP is referencing) there were a series of popular “Big Johnson” t-shirts, which relied on sexual innuendo (I.e. Big Johnson pool hall. Liquor in the front, poker in the rear).

So this is not a one-time thing. As I recall, my debate team wanted to make t-shirts that said:

Debaters do it orally

Another one I remember:

Drummers do it with rhythm

ETA: the first Valentine’s Day I was dating my wife, I bought her pajamas that said “Insomniacs do it at night”

Not quite the proper form, but I did see this back in the day:

“Let a telephone man put it in.”

A friend of mine said her marching band mates had tee shirts made that read “Trombone players do it in VII positions.” (It helps if you know trombone notation. The band parents apparently didn’t.)

The Beatles do it in the road.

Tree surgeons get into more crotches.

Glider pilots keep it up longer.

Glider pilots do it without power.

a friend’s dad (early 1990s) was a carpet installer, and he had a sticker on his car that said ‘carpet layers do it on their knees’
