Do you replay old games?

Which M&M game had the cuisinart who lived up in the hills and would either kill everyone instantly or give out googobs of treasure and XP? I loved that one.

Which one had a crashed spaceship piloted by Captain Krik and Kcops and crew? I hated that one.

gog.com has master of orion 1+2 for only $6 here, so this one at least is available cheap
As for the OP - yes, I replay old games all the time. Currently replaying the first two XCOM games which became available on steam, have started new scenarios in Civ IV, just finished replaying Under a Killing Moon (Tex Murphy rocks!) and is finally getting around to finish all the games in the Ishar series, only played Ishar 2 back when I actually ran MS-DOS.

I play the original Colonization at times, as well as the occasional go at Civ 2.

Don’t know about the first (there were a bunch of cuisinarts you had to beat up for the Champion promotion in VI), but the second was VI for sure - not that it looked much like a spaceship, it had a pyramid built over it. Why’d you hate it?

I rarely finish games, even those I like. There are too many games and too many other distractions to stay interested long enough to complete most games.

But I always return to take another bite out of the good ones. Today, I finally finished Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, in all of its 256-color, pixellated glory.

I have so many unfinished games on my computer that I can no longer buy new ones. Dragonage will just have to wait.

I don’t know why he hates it, but I can tell you why I found it to be a drudge. After the 20th time of facing 500 identical enemies who can only be distinguished by the color of their outfit and who’s entire AI is reminiscent of the old “Robot Chase” game, with an occasional random missile or spell thrown your way you begin to hate combat. Absolutely hate it.

Was the game great otherwise? Sure! But the combat was such a significant part of it that it crippled what was the makings of a phenomenal CRPG/Adventure.

It’s even worse with 64 bit OS, as 16 bit games often work but 32 bit ones won’t. That’s why I use MS Virtual PC and have copies of 98 and XP installed.
