I share a bedroom with my husband, which I’m sure is common. But I have a little room in the back of the house that’s “mine”. It used to be my husband’s office, but now he moved into an out-of-the-house office, so I’ve taken it over. It’s a nice option, but I find myself rarely using it. I prefer hanging out in the living room with my laptop and the cat.
Alone an apartment all to myself
Would change it in a heartbeat, it is so nice to have someone to curl up with and I like having a woman in the house. It grounds me and makes me cleaner. I actually believe that Men are better off when they have Women in their lives kinda takes the rough edges off, at least that is how it works with me.

I had my own bedroom growing up, so it took a little getting used to when I went away to college and had to share a bedroom with a roommate, every single night. It really threw a monkeywrench into my masturbation schedule, which in those days was pretty frequent. Then I lived alone for years. Now I share a bedroom with my wife. Fortunately she doesn’t mind me masturbating. There’s nothing I dislike about sharing a bedroom with her. She’s a quiet sleeper, she keeps things neat and tidy, she’s a warm body I can spoon, and she’s just generally awesome.
I have a bedroom with a nice king-size bed. Sometimes I’m alone in it, other times there’s my 6’10" partner, two dogs and two cats. Usually somewhere between those two extremes.
I share with my wife. Two single beds (i.e. two frames and two mattresses) pushed together with a single duvet. I tend to be a very “mobile” sleeper (always tossing and turning) so on a single mattress my wife would be bounced out of bed and kept awake.
I’m single, so I’m not used to sharing a room with a significant other.

Just between you and me, SDMB…that’s one of many reasons I enjoy having my own room.
Also, I can practice ukulele all I want.
“practice ukulele”- great euphemism!
Currently, I have an apartment, and hence a bedroom, all too myself. If you’d asked me one year ago, I’d have been in the very small category who shared a room with someone other than a romantic partner - my mom.
I lived with my parents to help take care of my dad, who has dementia. Parents had separate bedrooms due to sleeping patterns, and I took the third bedroom. Then, my older brother was laid off, and he had literally been living out of his office, so he moved in as well. Four grown ups in a three bedroom house. It got a bit squeezed. I moved into my mom’s bedroom when Dad pitched a fit that he wasn’t giving up his.
Mom and I get along great. The only friction is that she’s much more picked up than I am, but I try to live up to her standards because I like a tidy environment just as much as she does.
The only reason I’m not still there is that my presence became a trigger for Dad’s hostility. So, older brother has taken over much of his care while I moved back to Texas.
Yes and no. I’m divorced. My kids go back and forth between houses. I live in a two bedroom house. When my daughter is here, I like for her to have her privacy and the bed/bedroom. I discovered just this year that I actually DO sleep a lot better alone. When I have spent the night at my boyfriends’ place, we have at times slept apart after having fun. It suits us both just fine.
Hubby and I share a bedroom. Have for 28 plus years. I find it as easy as drawing breath, to be honest. When I was younger , in my 20’s and 30’s, I’d have bet the house I could never be capable of such a thing, go figure!

I’m all for uninterrupted masturbation myself! ![]()
Cool, you play the uke! I watched my lover change the strings, adjust the bridge and wipe his Baritone down just yesterday. He takes care of his uke with love…it turned me on. ![]()
My wife has fibro/arthritis,
My wife has the jimmy arms,
My wife likes the waterbed,
I hate the waterbed and snore so I moved across the hall and use the the spare (my)’ bedroom.
