He and his wife just hired Obama’s adviser and Clinton’s campaign strategist, ostensibly for their charity organization.
He *says *he’s not going to run.

I think Donald Trump is both opening the window for celebrity politicians and closing it.
Some celebrities look at Trump’s election and think “Well, if he can get elected with no qualifications other than his image, why can’t I?”
But then there’s Trump’s term of office, which is showing everyone why electing a person with no qualifications other than his image is a bad idea.
Think about how many people get their news almost entirely from Facebook.
I think he’ll run, and I think he’ll win.
I don’t think the comparison between him and Trump is apt. Zuck is actually a self-made billionaire, and not a “celebrity” except in the sense that we tend to celebrate business success.
Just so everyone knows, Zuck will not be eligible for 2 more years, when he turns 35. Yeah, that can’t stop him from running in 2020, but just sayin’.
I don’t think he’ll do it, as doing so would instantly turn off probably half of the people with Facebook accounts, both in the US and throughout the world.
Yes, and it’s not something like Chik-fil-a, where you might turn off liberal customers you also potentially might attract conservative customers…I’ve literally seen people on social media boasting that they go out of their way to eat at Chik-fil-a because it makes liberals cry. Facebook only works because everyone’s on Facebook. Facebook For Democrats isn’t Facebook anymore.
It’ll get all the old fogy conservatives to switch over to snapchat or instagram. The kids won’t be too happy about that!
On one hand, he said:
"Yeah so if you ever need info about anyone at Harvard. Just ask. I have over 4,000 emails, pictures, addresses, SNS… People just submitted it. I don’t know why. They “trust me.” Dumb fucks.
On the other hand, I’m not sure that would hurt a candidate in this age.
Think about it?
Why did he start facebook?
Obviously, multiple reasons but one of the reasons was so that he and his friends (who felt more comfortable behind a keyboard) could use it to communicate with others. (Translation - meet girls if you are a guy)
Why would want to go from his current position to the POTUS where he is in the limelight 24/7.
Even guys like Trump (who is used to it) find it a lot harder and more distressing than they envisioned.
Expect the next president to be someone who is comfortable in the limelight 24/7.
That person is not Mark Zuckerberg
Dude’s been collecting demographic information and browsing/clicking habits of everyone in America, plus their Polish grandmas for 15+ years, *and *every corporation and non-profit this side of Mars. Dude could run the tightest, most-focused campaign in history, piping his message directly into our brains without us even knowing it.
He could convince everyone to re-name the country Zuckerberg, change the Constitution to allow his uploaded brain to serve as the Zuckerberger Emperor for all eternity, all the while we’re mindlessly “heart-ing” videos of cats falling off furniture and George Takei posting sex lists from Distractify.com.
Another reason some think Zuckerberg is planning to run for president is he’s spending this year visiting all fifty states, as mentioned in the link in the OP. I’ve read descriptions of these visits that say he’s preceded by black-suited security pros driving around in black SUVs. In other words, a security team much like the Secret Service. I think I even read that some of them are former Secret Service.
I think Kid Rock is doing the intelligent thing (and that’s not a statement you see often). He’s running for a Senate seat and establishing some political credentials.
I can’t wait for the inaugural ball. He’ll cut a dashing figure in his designer hoodie.
He is young, if he spends ten years or so learning how the political system works, maybe.
If he wants to make some lasting changes to the world, it might be better if he spends his billions on some noble project that will benefit mankind.
Politics is a dirty game and few seem to emerge from the top job with much credit.
It makes me wonder what his Big Idea might be.
