Should have posted this in Great Debates then I guess.
You can’t change quotes in any of the forums. Including the Pit. (You can be a jerk in The Pit.)
I have 2 question to ask:
- I am curious, how did most black male stereotypes develop overtime?
I mean I even heard that Black men have always been the most marginalized, so why then?
WTF??
QFT.
Wow, even with his posting history, I still would have assumed that he had mastered “counting to two.”
I forgot, I was typing that in a hurry.
You think you are being funny but you are not. If you have question about a moderator action, PM the moderator or start a thread in ATMB. Do not discuss it in thread.
If I don’t see something resembling a good faith, coherent effort to discuss this topic from you I will close this thread.
Alright. I just want to let you know I am not American, so I might get some wrong ideas out there. Please forgive me if I am judging something way too biased because of the images out there the media likes to promote.
And I wasn’t kidding when I said I typed that in a hurry. I am watching a play, right now we’re in intermission.
So I just love learning the various subcultures and cultures out there this country has. Sorry if I sound again a bit too judgemental, biased or ignorant.
Why do I keep getting false alerts? It literally always says “View first unread”.
You keep saying this, and yet you have not once produced an example.
In the US, “The Media” is generally taken to mean the large news organizations, and reputable websites.
Youtube is not “The Media.” Neither is 4Chan. However, both are media. Just not “The Media."
Fine, a lot the internet or whatever else is appropiate to use.
Fine. Just don’t say “The Media.”
What media in particular? I don’t know what your sources are; examples would be helpful.
That first guy didn’t know how to handle that big black cock.
ChallengingMedia on Youtube.
“In this new, highly anticipated update of her pioneering Killing Us Softly series, the first in more than a decade, Jean Kilbourne takes a fresh look at how advertising traffics in distorted and destructive ideals of femininity. The film marshals a range of new print and television advertisements to lay bare a stunning pattern of damaging gender stereotypes – images and messages that too often reinforce unrealistic, and unhealthy, perceptions of beauty, perfection, and sexuality. By bringing Kilbourne’s groundbreaking analysis up to date, Killing Us Softly 4 stands to challenge a new generation of students to take advertising seriously, and to think critically about popular culture and its relationship to sexism, eating disorders, and gender violence.”
Gosh those false alerts are irritating.
You have to start in ATMB and read all the unread threads, well really, you just have to open and close them. Then work your way through the forums until you get here.
No way around it. If you don’t the messages will intensify.
And, well, you also have to remember that YouTube isn’t news. Nothing on it has to be factual, and being on YouTube doesn’t mean it isn’t total bugger eating made up fantasy. I would recommend not getting opinions from YouTube and then asking others about them.
First thing, do some research. Where else do you see this news or things like it? You can’t call it a Liberal Conspiracy or obsession if the only place you can find things calling it that are on right wing blogs and youtube. Just as one can’t argue the efficacy of Sovereign Citizen views without relying on far outlier blogs, which are not news or factual sources of information. You’re not going to find validations of those views on mainstream media, science or law sites, which is a big clue that they’re not entirely accurate and may just be serving an agenda.
Well, unless you’re trying to prove a hypothesis correct by cherry picking outliers or seeing it where it doesn’t exist. In which case I recommend downloading Luther, the British series.
