Do you THINK this is a scam?

I came across this on a hot deals website and I think it may be legit but I’m not certain. What do you think scam or no scam?

I’ve seen sites like this before. The deal is, you buy the thing at the retail price, and when it arrives you get a customer survey. You fill it out, return it, and in so much time a refund check comes. The site I looked at before had a 2-4 MONTH waiting period to get the refund, so it really doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Oh, and a side note I forgot to mention:

You should have capitilized ‘you’ in the thread title, not ‘think’. The way you have it emphasized it seems kinda…sarcatically threatening, wheras emphasizing ‘you’ makes it more of a direct question asking for an opinion. Just my $0.02.

Well, I tried ordering using phony info. Once you get to step 3 it tells you that they only accept Citibank C2it orders. You have to register for an account. I’m guessing its like paypal or something.

Well they want me to use c2it to send them the money and they are in Singapore so I don’t see how they can charge me more than the amount I send them.

I put the emphasis on YOU because I want to know what the person reading this thread thinks.

It’s a Scam!!**

I’m a fraud analyst for a Visa/Mastercard issuer. This is an old scam.
As bouv stated, they will take their time issuing the refund. Usually 90 days at least, which is coincidentally the time frame of when a dustomer can dispute the charge with their V/M. Since you willingly gave the account information to the merchant, the bank can and will refuse to take the charge as fraud.
Some of the merchants will also use your account information for personal charges. Since they have the account number, expiration date and in some cases the signature panel code, they can make purchases.
Most of these merchants are located outside the United States and avoid prosecution. V/M will take away their V/M privledges if enough complaints/fraud comes through. They will just reopen under a new company name.

If the offer sounds too good to be true, it is.

I was thinking along the lines that they somehow make charges to your account but because c2it is sending them a check I didn’t see how they can get me for any more money. I’m not going to buy anything from them because the card I have linked is a Mastercard and I know my bank will treat it as a cash advance and I don’t want to pay interest from day 1 on it.

bouv was pointing out that the ephasis is actually on THINK even though you meant to put it on YOU.
