I use this one almost everywhere, my alternate nic is MadTheSwine
I use my “user name” everywhere, all the time, since it’s my real name.
My girlfriend’s nickname for me is andygirl. (Actually, she calls me andy, andygirl, andyasaurus… or just Kristen. ;))
I use andygirl on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer posting board, although I don’t go there much. I also use it whenever I’m registering any nickname.
Excuse me, *I *didn’t start it. MSK did. I use some form of skuggi everywhere if possible. Most of the time the form will be ssskuggiii.
I’ve been slythe on the 'net since 1982.
I use this name everywhere. Actually, I use “evensven” everywhere, but I signed up with it and lost the password, hence, I am “even sven”. Oh well.
I’ve been using this name for five years now, and everyone knows they can always find me by it. And I know that it is never taken (please, don’t take it) on anything. I despise numbers after screen names, so I am happy to have one that is totally origional. If I ever meet another evensven I think I’d faint.
I went to a party for a friend held by some people I didn’t know. Since most of the planning for it was sone via email (it was a pretty elaborate surprise party, most of the people thought evensven was my real name! It was pretty strange.
I use a variant of Monster104 everywhere I go, with the exception of battle.net where my account name is (V)onster
The only other place I’m known as ‘mega the roo’ is http://www.extremejerks.com.
Everywhere else I go, I’m known as ‘i like trees.’.
Everywhere I’m either PowerpuffKue, or just Kue.
I just remembered that I’m registered somewhere as, “And the dream became a shameless awakening” and also as “Fat trees are the happiest trees.”
I’m lunasea as much as possible. It’s usually got luna in there somewhere. My alternate is pgtips/pgtipz, for when I don’t want to seem to girly.
Erika is my real name, so I use it offline all the time. The only IRL nickname that I willingly answered to was W, which tends to be rather short for online. Lots of places I’m “wardel” or “wardel8”, since that’s the particular arangement of last name/initals my school chose for usernames. It helps that it’s somewhat pronouncable.
I’m Commander Fortune even when it’s inappropriate.
I’ve been Tark for a long, long time. Gawd, I just figured it out… almost 25 years. I use it everywhere that I can, though there are places that it’s already been snagged.
Online? Most certainly. And most of my friends call me by both my real name and Tark… as a matter of fact, about 8 years ago my kids got me a t-shirt emblazoned with “Pop Tark” on the back…
On the BNL board, I’m alt_girlfriend (BNL fans will understand the reference), but I haven’t been there since February or March. Otherwise, I’m a variation of my old nickname- Dweeb. Long story. This is the first place I’ve actually used my real name.
I use ‘blokeychap’ everywhere coz it’s rarely taken by anyone else and I consider it all mine - However at the chat room in consumptionjunction I’m forced to use ‘blokey’ coz they only let you use 8 characters and I don’t like being ‘blokeycha’
Started using yojimbo as a Quake 1 handle and have used it ever since on the web for anywhere you have to use a usermane .
Okay, not to nitpick, but, well, it’s a Saturday morning, I’m bored, and I have some time to kill.
Cal, I have read the thread title, and have also read your reply, in depth, and I just don’t understand it. Maybe I’m a little slow, but…
I take this statement to mean that you only use the handle, CalMeacham, right here on this MB.
This statement contradicts the previous statement. It says that you have never had a nickname, but the previous statement says that CalMeacham is indeed your nickname. So, I’m not following you here…
This is the statement that led me to believe that CalMeacham is your real name. In it, it says that this (this, meaning, your SDMB registration, I presume) has been your only opportunity to pick your own name. Your own name being, CalMeacham.
I started out trying to use “fred”, suffice to say that I wasn’t usually the first (sic)
so, a minor modification and voila, not sure WHY I bothered,
as my RL name is pete
Oddly enough, I almost can never be Satan, as the name seems to be taken quickly. All I can guess is that there are a lot of people who love Buffalo Sabres forward Miroslav Satan…
My backup, Satan666, is also usually gone. As such, I have to assume that a lot of those hockey fans were born in June and are now 34 years old.
My third choice, which I always seem to get no matter what, is NYCNative. This is my first choice if I am at a place (such as LBMB) where having the name Satan is not a great idea (ho hockey fans there).
We won’t even speak of the name Stan A, however…
