In the winter, when it’s cold, I will start off wearing them to bed, but take them off in the night.
I’ve fallen asleep a few times while still wearing clothes, including socks. (For example, I’m reading while sitting or lying on the bedspread, decide to “rest my eyes” for a few minutes, and wake up several hours later.) Also, I’ve worn socks under the covers a few times, such as when I’ve been sick and known I’d probably need to get up several times during the night and walk across a cold floor in order to use the bathroom.
I virtually always do (the only exception being if it’s very warm out). Have done so since I was a teenager. I don’t even have particularly cold feet; I’m just more comfortable that way.
When my feet get chilled it causes a CPPD flare, so I tend to wear these great fuzzy chenille socks mrAru gets me from Ghu knows where. Soft, warm, comfy. They are nonbinding, so if I do start flaring they don’t choke me at the ankles before I wake up and notice.
And they keep the cat from licking my toes. She has a grooming thing sort of going on.:smack:
Ha, Kohls. Now I know!
God no. Drives me crazy even for someone else to. And then for my one dude to even sleep in jeans sometimes too? OMG. I should have known better. And my own kid will do the same thing sometimes if I don’t harass her to put pajama pants on before she gets too tired. I should have known better than to have a kid.
most carpet mfgrs recommend not going barefoot on carpet…they told me this yrs ago when i re-carpeted my first. ever since, I always were socks all the time, even in bed, at home.

Only it it’s *very *cold. I’ll often keep my socks off when I first get in bed in the wintertime, but I almost always take them off before I settle in to sleep.
If I’m really cold I will, but I hate the feeling of the socks bunching up and moving around against the bedding.
In winter yes. My feet get really cold. The rest of the year, no.
I prefer the feeling of bare feet, over socks, but I prefer the socks over frozen toes!
I do if my feet are cold and I can’t warm them up any other way. I cannot sleep with cold feet. My preferred method of keeping them warm are a couple of rice bags warmed up in the microwave.
I do if it’s really cold
When I was in Scotland my unheated bedroom got very cold at night during the winter. I slept in sweats, with socks, under several blankets. That’s the only time I remember ever wearing socks to bed - normally I can’t stand having them on at night.
One of my few joys in life is digging my toes into my freshly-vacuumed carpet. Well-worth the cost for me!
As for the question at hand, I never wear socks to bed. In fact, I rarely keep socks on at home, period. The irony is I don’t like going anywhere WITHOUT socks, unless I’m just rolling around in the yard.

I also am not a freak.
My post is my cite!
I voted it depends, because it depends. If it’s warm or hot weather, socks are gone. If it’s chilly or straight-up cold weather, socks almost never leave my feet.
Someone else always gets there first.
This is what happens to me. In winter, I start out with socks on but they irritate me after a while and I kick them off sometime during the night.
No. I can’t stand the sensation under the covers, and they make my feet clammy. I basically never wear socks, period, so I sure am not wearing them to bed.
I wear socks when my feet are cold, and my feet tend to get especially cold in bed during the cold season. I have poor circulation. If at all possible, I moisturize my feet before putting on the socks.
I also use a heating pad or hot water bottle during the cold season here (we don’t have winter, really). I prefer to warm up the foot area of the bed before I actually get into bed.
I have a tough time sleeping with anything on my feet.
I’m in Scotland, in an unheated bedroom - I wear socks, pyjamas, and on really cold nights (i.e. last month or so!) a big fleecy dressing gown too.
In other conditions, no.
