Every year the BBC does a telethon called Children in Need. Two years ago the show featured a short extra clip of Doctor Who - covering the initial reaction of Rose to the newly-regenerated Doctor.
This year they are doing something that seems a little more ambitious: the return of the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison, and a script by Steven “Blink” Moffat. It’s not known how long it will be, or where it fits into the timeline but I’m pretty excited to see this!
I thought it was brilliant and quite sweet. I’m not familiar with the Fifth Doctor so I had to enlist my husband who just about fell out of his seat with glee and confirmed that he was very much in character. The confidential was quite adorable as well…so many grown men squealing like 11 year old fanboys.
Loved the “desktop theme” line, and got a very hearty laugh at the “No beard this time…well, he has a wife.” How do they get away with this stuff?
Fantastic - Peter Davison will always be my 2nd favourite Doctor (after Tom Baker). I’ve been a big fan ever since he played Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small. Nice to see him back in uniform again…
This was great! I thought I knew Peter Davison, but did not remember the celery. And when I researched my childhood memories, I found out that I had been wrong. Apparently, my first Doctor was the seventh one.
The “beard” line and the brainy specs, heh! I [heart] Stephen Moffat. Now to resume waiting for Christmas…
