Doctor who performed abortions shot to death.

Well, he can’t drive right now, but forcing him to jump through hoops for several hours while being screamed at seems to be appropriate to me.

While the first part of your sentiment is certainly laudable (and necessary), I don’t quite get why you’d want to do the latter.

Certainly revenge is sweet, but surely you know it is a dish best served cold. Or are you aiming for a RL moniker change a la “Diogenes The (predictable) Martyr?”

That’d be a great way to get yourself killed, and/or your clinic bombed.

Terror didn’t quite win here…a Nebraska doctor is stepping in now.

So . . . revenge is dessert?

Indeed. In this case I think it best one forgets the cherry on top though.

He’s got a Wikipedia page: LeRoy Carhart - Wikipedia

It says he started performing abortions full-time after anti-abortion arsonists burned down his house and barn. A man after your own heart, Dio.

Well, I condemn it & I’ve read condemnations from plenty of conservative & anti-abortion spokepeople. Roeder is a murderer, deserves execution, and if he does not repent before his death, he will suffer for it in Hell, as has the justly-executed Paul Hill. ( Check this statement by radical anti-abortion Domionionist theologian Gary North- Lone Gunners for Jesus http://www.entrewave.com/freebooks/docs/html/gnlg/gnlg.html )*

I will commend Dr. Tiller for providing 3rd-trimester “dire situation” abortions. But were all such late-term ones he did only for such dire situations? Also,
there are still pending state investigations as to that clinic’s operations, tho with Tiller’s death, they are no longer focusing on him.

Now, please give evidence that any of the murders of abortion-providers were done by “right wing death squadS”** and not “lone nuts”. There’s as much evidence that the JFK assassination was engineered by Castro or the USSR.
*Yes, I believe in Hell. I waver on the eternity & inescapability of it.

** I’d originally written “squad”, and then did a bit of research & found that “the Army of God” could be seen as a very-loosely organized RWDS.

Band Name!

Suggested first album title: Partial-Birth Distortion.

You know, you have no more evidence that Dr. Tiller’s services were NOT provided exclusively to those in “dire” circumstances than anyone does of “right wing death squads”. Just seemed worth pointing out, as needless impugnment goes.

Who’s defining dire here? You? Or the woman who’s been pregnant for seven months and, what, got bored?

Ran out of maternity clothes, actually.

Considering that he had been acquitted of the previous 19 accusations, and that performing a 3rd-trimester abortion is illegal in Kansas for anything but a dire situation, why would you assume that he performed them for any other reason? Why not just presume his innocence?

I asked a question about Dr. Tiller’s practice. TSS made an assertion about “RWD” Squads terrorizing abortionists. There’s a difference between a question & an assertion.

Yeah, I’ve been wondering just how “dire” these situations truly are myself, given that there are only three clinics providing them for the whole country. How come we haven’t been hearing about hundreds or thousands of women dying or being seriously harmed due to dangerous pregnancies they’ve been unable to abort?

Or is dire defined by just really, really, really not wanting that baby?

Why not try READING THE LINK, a mere two posts above yours, to Kansas law that defines what “medical necessity” constitutes a dire situation warranting a third trimester abortion? Hint: it’s not “really really really not wanting that baby.” I know, clicking that link and educating yourself before spouting off is a terribly strenuous activity, but then again, so is making snide, accusatory statements with no factual support, but you don’t seem to break a sweat doing that, so try the reading and see how it goes.

1032 women had abortions in the US past the 24 week mark.

500,000 women die from pregnancy worldwide, each year.

I posted immediately upon reading Cat Fight’s post, which preceeded LilShiestes. I will read it later when I have more time.

It would be so nice if every once in a while you reacted to what I actually said, rather than how you choose to interpret it. I didn’t make a statement, I asked a question. And a perfectly legitimate one at that, considering that there have only been three clinics in the entire country performing these abortions. And if the pregnancies have been dire enough to warrant killing perfectly viable late-term babies, why weren’t they aborted earlier?

Now there may be perfectly justifiable answers to these questions, I don’t know. But until I find out more about what was going on there and just how ‘dire’ is defined and applied, things there just don’t pass the smell test to me.

And your point is?

I’m thinking that the clinic in Kansas was dealing primarily with U.S. citizens. So how many women around the country have been dying because they couldn’t afford or get to one of the three clinics performing these allegedly life-saving abortions? Somehow one never hears of them, and thus my suspicions about just how ‘dire’ these abortions truly are.

True, and as a lifelong subscriber to Underclass Woman’s Day, surely you’d be one of the first to hear about it.
