I loved the doctor when I was a toddler too. That was Jon pertwee though. I’m posting from my phone in a tent and am a little concerned about how the hell I’m going to see the next episode
I did NOT need to know that. (dayum, redhead, Scottish AND tall!)
If you’re in Scotland, can’t you use the iPlayer on the BBC website?
My mother sagely (its always sagely when it concerns my daughter) advised me not to let her watch the monsters of Doctor Who
It’s all good fun says I. My little girl will hide for the hell of it behind the sofa or chair for many programmes, why not join in. Such an authority as Tom Baker acknowledged in a Dalek documentary that it was a bit of pantomime, fun for all the family.
The latest TV trailer looks interesting, with Daleks popping off incoming German bombers. Another case of the Doctor coming temporaly close to one of his previous incarnations too.
I’m half way up a mountain Alan. In a tent.
Well, yes, but you also have Internet access, unless you’re posting this by yak courier.
I’ve got a relay of Sherpa posting this letter by letter. Seriously though well done vodafone this is not a bad signal. By Christ me legs hurt though.
How long will you be up that mountain, though? BBC leaves the video up for more than a week don’t they? And if not, well, I’m in the US and I’ve been able to see it somehow. . . .
Nicholas Briggs has voiced the Daleks for a long time.
Here’s an interview.
This article previews the next episode. Victory of the Daleks
No spoilers. Unless you didn’t see last weeks preview.
There is a slideshow at the bottom with a few pics.

Is this a television I see before me?
I’m sorry - but what the fuck was that? I nearly fell asleep during that episode.
That was … not great.
Are you talking ep 2 or 3?
THE SKARO MAIL
Dalek Obesity Timebomb:
Caused By Gallifreyan Gipsy?
Definitely episode 3 - it absolutely stank.
Not a brilliant episode, no, but we did get the revelation that Amy doesn’t remember the Daleks. That’s going to be important.
I hate the new Dalek design. What’s with the bright colors?
Episode 3 felt like a half an episode. Like it was all set-up and then suddenly, it was all over. The pacing was completely off, there was no sense of rising action, every single solution was ridiculous (yes the only thing stopping planes from flying through space is gravity). The Doctor’s angst over the Daleks felt really ridiculous after he lost his shit because the human!Doctor “committed genocide” against them. It’s vaguely interesting that Amy doesn’t remember the daleks, but only vaguely.
I think you either needed to be stoned for that or a small child. Now i know that Doctor Who is supposed to be a “children’s show” but that doesn’t mean stupid, slow, uninteresting, and tedious.
iDaleks?
Way too rushed. I agree that it had no rhythm whatsoever. Also, more cheap sentimentality and none of the characters were developed at all. Why, oh why did we need all the angst with Professor Bomber-man? Why would the Doctor ever hesitate if the Earth was on the line? Why all the angry shouting and macho posturing from the Doctor? Kicking a Dalek, honestly? Whose idea was that? Finally, why the hell did they make one of the greatest statesmen of the century into a buffoon?
On the good side, I actually liked the new Dalek design (though I have to ask, why are they superior if they’re back to pure Dalek DNA, and how come the other Dalek’s were impure?). Amy’s missing memories are intriguing.
Next episode’s trailer leaves me completely cold. Other than the awful ending I thought the only flaw in Shadows in the Library/Forest of the Dead was the incredibly annoying River Song and though the Weeping Angels were great I can’t imagine how they can be as effective as villains the second time around.
What about the tardis always being late at the moment?
“back in 5 minutes” = Amy Pond all grown up
taken for a spin to the moon and back = 2 years has passed and Amy is about to get married
Churchill calls and they turn up a month later.
