Maybe, maybe not. There are more time agents than just Jack.
I don’t. I find the concept of an entire forum of people who tuck their shirts into their underpants somewhat worrying…![]()
I have a nasty feeling that it is going to require a HUGE RTD-style reset button: Perhaps that the Doctor is hallucinating and still in the ‘Amy’s Choice’ episode. :smack: Gawd, I hope not!
Or maybe he landed in Amy’s dream, and all of this is in her head. ![]()
I agree. I suspect the last episode will involve the Doctor jumping in/out of time cracks fixing events. Basically a reset of things that went terribly wrong. Some questions may not get answered. They can only cover so much in 45 min.
I don’t expect many answers about River. They probably want to bring her back for new stories.
I thought I remembered reading somewhere (sorry, no cite) that they were going to wrap up the River Song storyline in this season, but at this point that just doesn’t seem very likely.
Mine too!
Cool to know that our birthday is the base code of the universe, eh?
It’s a 55 minute long episode next week. I’m reasonably confident that Moffat won’t go for too much of a big-red-button reset. It certainly looks like there’s been stuff all through this season pointing towards the resolution.
Because there’s no possible way he could come out on top in a physical fight with three Daleks, some Cybermen, armed Silurians, a few Judoon, and assorted others while plastic Romans are restraining his arms, and being locked in a box is preferable to being beaten to a pulp and then locked in a box.
There’s always hope. Especially if you haven’t yet been beaten to a pulp.
Time can be rewritten. It won’t be, of course, but it’s been established repeated that it could, and in specific reference to the Doctor and River’s relationship.
We’re not meant to know yet.
They’re the police, but they’re a kind of thuggish police force for hire.
All he’s really got to do is get out of the box, keep the Tardis from exploding, and save Amy’s life. Should be easy enough.
Fuck me, that episode was mental!. I usually have an idea about how Dr. Who cliffhangers will resolve themselves (and I’m usually wrong) but this time I genuinely have no idea how they’re going to get out of this.
Get in line! ![]()
River has Jack’s time vortex manipulator, so she can do a time jump and get out of the exploding TARDIS.
I wonder if there is any significance to the Cyberman helmet using the Borg’s copyrighted catchphrase of “you will be assimilated” instead of their typical “you will be upgraded”
See, the phrase “Rory looks hot” just doesn’t make sense to me. He’s likable enough (like-able), but hot? De gustibus and all that.
The following is really just questions and speculation, but spoiler-boxed for safety:
Does River have the vortex manipulator, or does the Doctor? It would make sense for her to leave it for him as she was taking the Tardis. I didn’t see either wearing it in the final scenes. (I think she has a wristwatch, but I’m not watching it frame by frame – again.)
He’s keeping his fists firmly clenched while sitting inside the Pandorica. Could he be holding on to something?
The voice in the Tardis is Q!
I have a bit of a thing for soft-spoken Englshmen. Plus Arthur Darvill has really intense eyes.
Oh! I didn’t think of that! Very likely, especially since River, having met a future version of the Doctor, probably knew what was going on the whole time.
[Q] Temper, temper, Mon Docteur![/Q]
Hmm, perhaps “Q”=“The Master”… both of them sure have patronizing/taunting senses of humour, and seem to enjoy annoying/tricking their “opposites” (Q/Picard, The Doctor/The Master)
Well it is linked to and powered by the Eye of Harmony, an artificial black hole of unknown size. Presumably it’s bang would be very big (Big?). I’m sure the Time Lords were (over)confident of their ability to make them indestructible.
They did seem to go out of the way to point out it was a “handsome” time agent, though.
But he knows Venusian aikido! The Third Doctor would never have put up with that! ![]()
Yeah, we were meant to assume it’s Jack. Whether or not it is, of course, is a whole other question.
Besides, this is Jack. He’ll be more annoyed at the loss of his bling than his hand.
Maybe this is what’s going to keep him on Earth since T3 ended with him taking a vacation from the place?

I’m not a Torchwood watcher, so the last time I saw Jack’s vortex manipulator it had been disabled by the Doctor (again). Did he get it working again (again)?
As far as I remember, Jack doesn’t have TT capability. He used his watch thing to signal a passing ship and at the moment, he’s in our time period, but hanging around off-earth.
