Dammit NoClueBoy, I’m trying to work up a good, unreasoning, irrational rage against US viewers, the sort of mood in which I can randomly spam threads with Doctor-Who Spoilers, and you spoilt it by being understanding and reasonable!

Well, that’s the thing about living in the US—we don’t feel that we have to do anything to accomodate the rest of the world.

Re the end-of-next-series “spoiler”: Am I the only person here who reads the BBC news site? Because they “spoiled” this about 3 seconds after it was announced. I nearly started a thread about it. Does anyone seriously believe it could be kept secret from any reasonably alert US fan for a whole 'nother year? If so, how?

Yes, I do not read the BBC Dr. Who sites or entertainment sites. In fact the only time I read the BBC sites is for World News to get a perspective I cannot get from sites like CNN.
I think I could have avoided such spoilers. I managed to be surprise by the Doctor regenerating in this last 1st season episode.
On the other hand, this is not the end of the world or a huge surprise. So I think I will be able to recover with a little help.

(Granted, the Doctor probably didn’t think anyone could break into the Tardis console. He couldn’t very well anticipate that one of his companions would have a mother who knew a guy who owned a kind of a tow truck. (What exactly was that vehicle, anyway?) And that companion would be willing to use a tow truck on the Tardis, and it would actually work. That surprised even me; I was waiting for the brute-force approach to fail and the Tardis, being telepathic and all, to open up anyway because Rose asked it the right way, or cried on it, or something.)
Anyway, “Bad Wolf” was a code name Rose made up. She couldn’t make it too clear, any more than the D-Day planners could call the plan “Invasion Normandy” instead of “Overlord”.
Meaning open spoilers ABOUT THE EPISODE. I was pretty ticked about that spoiler, too. Talk about fucking rude.
The news has been in all the papers over here. So no big secret.
Many of us are not over there so it is a big secret. Or as NCB put it: What you posted is a spoiler that we USA Whovians wouldn’t see for a year!
