*Throughout the Multiverse, tales are told of the enigmatic wanderer in time and space known as the Doctor. A renegade Timelord of Gallifrey, he combines a formidable intellect with a vast wealth of knowledge and experiences spanning several lifetimes. His mastery of countless sciences and disciplines has enabled him to foil the schemes of would-be conquerors such as the villainous Master, the Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Silurians, Ogrons, and countless other terrifying foes. Rare indeed are the times when the Doctor has been unable to achieve victory.
Then one day his TARDIS materialized on top of Bugs Bunny’s rabbit hole.*
Not really. He has telepathic powers that he normally eschews using. But he demonstrates them in his ability to communicate with anybody from any point in time or any world. They aren’t actually speaking the english language with a british accent on all those alien worlds he visits - he is merely telepathically interpreting their speech into a language that he & his companions can understand, and vice versa.
The Doctor was also capable of direct mind-to-mind telepathic communication with other Time Lords & members of his race - notably his grand-daughter Susan & the Master.
From time to time, it’s suggested that the Doctor has rather vast superhuman abilities, but simply prefers to outwit his opponents. He values intellectually triumphing over opponents rather than physically subduing them.
Maybe. But from what I can tell, he’s an unprepared busybody who gets very, very lucky most of the time. Really, if I were going to be bumping up against Daleks and Cybermen all of the time, I’d carry rather more than a screwdriver around with me.
You do have to give the Doctor credit for choosing somewhat slow and stupid opponents, though. If you have to face evil cybernetic opponents, floating salt shakers that move about two miles an hour and shout “Exterminate, exterminate” before they shoot * would * be favorite.
In fact, I’d be prepared to speculate that if Time Lord’s have any special power at all, it’s that they make a * deus ex machina * appear at will.
Actually, that’s been revealed to be a function of the TARDIS itself. Anyone who spends enough time on board has their brain seeded with universal translator nanites.
