Dodgers vs. Cub fans: Kind of a no-win situation

What kind of a fan takes the cap right off the head of a player? Well, obviously a drunk, obnoxious fan, but “asshole” isn’t the word here.

What an unfortunate position to be in. I don’t exactly blame the Dodgers for going into the stands; that’s what anyone with an inch of backbone would do: go after the guy and give him the consequences. But unfortunately, they’re not just acting on their own behalf; they’re representing a franchise, and to an extent, a city. If trained athletes go off on drunken good ol’ boys, naturally the GOB’s, if that’s the acronym one wants to use, are going to get hurt. Which is what they deserve, but that could have woeful consequences.

Some commentators were saying that it may come to banning beer at stadiums. Can you say “ruining it for everyone”?

I wonder what Royko would have said.

bump

Huh. Ya never saw this sort of shit when the Dodgahs were in Brooklyn, where they belong. In Brooklyn they showed some freakin’ class.

Now if you’ll 'scuse me, I gotta date at Lundy’s with Evil Eye Fleagle.

It’s not the Dodgers who are lacking in class, Ike; it’s the jerkass Cub fan. I’m not tarring all Chicagoans with the same brush, mind you, but it was a fan who started it.
