Does Amir Kahn have a legitimate complaint?

Which still has nothing to do with the topic, which is focussed on the section of the population that did watch and it and do care.

Are you new here? Your join date suggests so. Perhaps you might want to look again at the thread topic, then look at your first post, then consider whether you’ve actually make a worthwhile contribution. In fact, do more than that. The benefit of a message board is that the posts remain for reference so go back and read them all. They are there for everyone to see and re-read so I’ll leave it up to the good dopers to decide who is contributing in good faith.

I know threadshitting when I see it and most people won’t hesitate to call you out on it. You didn’t make a point so I asked you to…your response to that is there for all to see

As I say, the posts are there for all to see and I have been neither self-serving nor circular.

I get the impression you laugh along with the voices in your head whilst rocking back and forth but I could be mistaken

ooooo! a challenge. Of course it bears no relation to any claim I made but that seems to be your style. Pacquiao, Mayweather, Khan, the Klitschko brothers…yes, they are widely known by most sports fans. Are you saying they aren’t?
Here’s a question for you. How about I take a straw poll of 20 self-confessed sports fans from around the world and ask them these two questions.

  1. name me 10 top boxers from the last decade
  2. name me 10 top MMA fighters from the last decade

Now which question will get more correct responses? I predict you will dodge answering this because you already know what the answer is.

I called you that to insult you, sometimes nothing else will suffice. You were given every opportunity to make a proper contribution and showed (and still show) no inclination of doing so.

Point taken. I accept I should have reported rather than responded.

BTW I composed my previous post as you were posting and didn’t see the warning so apologies for any additional transgression in there. There’ll be no more.

I’d like to say that I don’t really watch much boxing and I have no idea who these people are. I still think any legit cheating complaint should be on the radar of any sports fan, regardless of what sport it is and what you think of it.

I thought Khan was robbed just based on the absurd points deductions for pushing.

I think it’s more an observation that Khan often comes across as a tit, and this fight was no different. Talking big game about lining up Mayweather before the fight, then when he gets beaten by a superb performance from Peterson, he really failed to show class and humility in his loss. Yes he got jibbed by the ref (and maybe worse), and probably should have got the decision on the night, but a champion would eat that and be generous to Peterson.

It is an odd one in that robberies tend to happen to the little guy in boxing. Other way round here - Khan is where the money is. Big fanbase in the UK (very few UK world class fighters active at the moment), trains with Roach, promoted with Golden Boy - he’s got a lot of backing. Peterson is the outsider but definitely got a couple of helpful nudges in this one.

I watched this fight and Khan should have won on points. Any suggestion of impropriety should be fully investigated. Boxing doesn’t need this. The more this happens the more the average fan will be turned off and turn to the likes of UFC or other sports.

Khan has a legit complaint and based on what I’ve seen he should be given the title back.
