I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, live and let live and all that. I thought his LOTR and weed thread was hilarious and wish it had not been locked. However, the post that got him a warning sure made it look like he was stepping up his game with the intent of being jerkish and that’s not cool …

The thread that compared Top Gun “fakeness” to Dances with Wolves was funny as hell, I thought. But after that, the spastic incoherency and all the "and shit"s just got to be too much - esp since so many members began adding the latter in their posts in attempt to be cute.
So I don’t miss Super Kapowzler much, but what’s even worse is all the "and shit"s. It’s getting pretty dumb and annoying.
The difference between good comedy and great comedy is knowing when to let it go. A lot of comedy acts are hilarious the first couple of times you see them. But if the comedian tries to hang on and keep doing the same act it gets annoying and then boring and then pathetic.

Until I first saw this thread, I hadn’t realized he’d been absent lately. He really didn’t make a favorable impression on me…but then, I grew up in the 60s and 70s, when people who acted like that generally weren’t acting.

GB has a forum called “The Box” which is sort of like detention; moderators can restrict any member to only being able to post there for a certain amount of time (I think the minimum is an hour). It’s sometimes used as a joke, but its intended purpose is to punish posters who are being disruptive or annoying. “Permaboxing” is restricting someone to The Box for an indefinite time, usually because they’ve shown no sign of being willing or able to correct their behavior.
I’d like to remind everyone that discussion of the other board is OK, but — it shouldn’t include discussion of a particular poster’s status or behavior on another board.

I’m glad he went dormant rather than suicide-by-mod. I wouldn’t mind him coming back from time to time. Leave them wanting more, isn’t that what comedians do?
