So this montage of Sean Bean screen deaths never fails to make me laugh. It’s as if someone really hates Sean Bean, and spent hundreds of millions of dollars so that they could kill him over and over again.
Can anyone think of any other actors who just seem to die all the time? Alan Rickman seems to bite it a lot (often as villains), as does Liam Neeson (often as a father/mentor figure) but I don’t think they come close to Bean in sheer volume.
He’s good looking, but he’s not good looking enough to be the male lead. That’s why he tends to play the villain or the second male lead, neither of whom are known for their extended life spans. The only time he plays the lead is in Indie films, where leads also have a high death rate.
Christopher Lee is probably up there. He’s had a long career and he frequently plays villains due to his imposing size and voice. And it’s not just his looks. If the Lord of the Rings commentaries are to be believed, he apparently stabbed a Nazi in the back during WWII.
