Does Anyone Else Give Thankgiving A Pass?

Because by the time I was old enough to realize how sexist it was, it was too late to change firmly entrenched traditions. I suppose I could resort to bonking the men over the head with a turkey roaster, but it wouldn’t help. The older women would shoo them off. There’s women’s work and then there’s men’s work and nary shall the two mix.

Once the older generation kicks the bucket, Thanksgiving will be a whole new deal.

We live in the States, but do not celebrate US Thanksgiving, and I, personally, LOVE the way we do things. We get to celebrate our Thanksgiving with other ex-pats and anyone who genuinely wants to celebrate with us and not worry about conflicting schedules and what have you.

And we get this lovely long weekend to hang out right before the Christmas rush madness.

Personally, I think you have every right to do what ever floats your boat, as long as you are happy with how you’re choosing to spend your time, more power to you.
