Does anyone else hate the new board layout?

Well, I guess I don’t exactly hate it, I’m just not used to it yet. It seems so…weird, being here but the boards not looking the same. It will definately take some time to get used to the new look and all the new features. Two things I really do not like though are the default sig-on (I don’t always like to post my sig and I never post it more than once per thread), and the fact that the board doesn’t fit the screen horizontally. That absolutely drives me apeshit for some reason. What do you guys think?

[sub]p.s. - to the employees of the Chicago Reader: I know you put alot of work into this and you didn’t have to, I’m not complaining. Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou[/sub]

I think you should eat shit and die, you loser!

OK OK I was just kidding. I guess my Cecil Adams sycophancy is carrying me a little far.
I find the look “busier” but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. I don’t have the horizontal scrolling problem. (Netscape 6.2 on MacOS 9.0.4)

I don’t have a problem with it - obviously, these boards are designed for a screen running in a higher resolution. I run 1024x768 and never see a horizontal scrolly bar. I like the colour scheme, aside from the anemic smilies - I think we need more smilies, even if they aren’t animated!

So far I haven’t remembered to untick my sig, but surely we can adjust to that? And I love the cheat tools for coding - they’re excellent!!

I like it just fine; in fact, I like it a lot better than the old board. The reply screen especially makes me happy, and frankly I don’t miss the colorful smilies. (I would also be perfectly happy if we never implemented an avatar feature.)

I also like the new “sticky” threads and the color scheme. In fact, so far I haven’t run into anything that I DON’T like about the new boards. Bravo admins!

Damn whiners.

I am just so glad to have it back, that I will never, ever complain about the boards again and if I do the staff can spank me.

Yeah, that’ll teach me.

My wild guess is that the Straight Dope logo is bigger than the software allows for. I’m sure they’ll fix this little cosmetic glitch in due course.

It’s different. I hate different. I hate when they change things I like.

I like it.

It’s better than limbo.

Yeah, I like it to.

And all these tools are great.

G r o o v y

 should be GREEN, dammit. And there are too many toys.

I guess I’ll get used to it.

I like it but the layout of the post reply/post topic screem drives me nuts! The text box is sooooo tiny and theres no reason for it to be so tiny. Theres tons of extra space on the screen. :wally

Pssst! Ignore the Aussies on this one, ‘kay? They have this … thing about green n’ gold. Just humour 'em, 'kay? Good.

Was disoriented at first, but been away for months, it seems, so I can adjust. It’s very much like landing in a different country for the first time (for me). I like the color scheme, & may do some of the built in graphics.

Yes

I dunno… I’m still kicking the tires, and getting used to the feel of it. But you gotta love the “new car” smell!

Things I don’t like so far:

-the smilies are the wrong colors!
-I miss smashie!
-seafood… never could stomach that crap!

Still and all, damn it’s good to be home!! <-------- this should be green!

I like the new features as well, but have been having problems with it remembering I’m logged in. I’ve cookied myself 4 times this AM alone in an effort to stay logged into the boards, but to no avail. I’m sure this and other minor glitches will work themselves out in time.

Great to be back.

Aussie Aussie Aussie!
OI OI OI!

And now, on topic: I like the new look. Then again, it’s not exactly ‘new’; after spending time at the UnaBoard, I actually already had a preference for this version of vBulletin.

Hey, it’s all right by me! There’s some features that are better than before, some things I don’t understand yet. I’ll ask some questions about those, but I’m going to wait until the construction dust settles and the moderationators have time to mop the sweat off their brows.

It’s absolutely LOVERLY
