I’m not sure Meatros. I have always hated it. However, as I often say, if this is the worst problem that I have, life ain’t so bad, eh?
What terms drive you nuts?
Any attempts to spell a word that normally starts with f, with ph instead. People who use phat should be boiled in oil. People who have it in the domain name of their web site should be fed to locusts.
I don’t like:
anyhoo
hoo boy!
Um…
And – people who call me dear, hon, sweetie, honey, darlin’ …
I’m guilty. I often call my female friends sweety (or sweetheart), in the same way I call my male friends buddy. But it would only be if I really do think you are a sweety and I would certainly stop if you expressed a dislike for the term.
I hate it. My ex says it. He also says “cal-i-FONE-ee-a” instead of California.
My father says anyhoo sometimes. When I just read the title of this thread I could hear him very clearly in my head saying it. When he actually says it, it’s not like nails on chalkboard or anything, but I don’t really like it. It just sounds fake, like he’s changing the english language just to be cute, but it’s not cute.
