Many people here read Fark. Perhaps too many. Seems like every time I see an interesting story on Fark, when I load the SDMB, someone’s started a thread about it. I wind up seeing everything twice.
I read Fark, but I prefer SDMB because there’s a far lower concentration of idiots and trolls. I can understand the cross-posting though; sometimes you just want an intellectual conversation on a topic, and Fark usually doesn’t cut it.
Lately I barely have time to get to SDMB. Add Fark to it and I’d never get any work done.

Just because you see something on Fark first and then on the SDMB doesn’t mean it went right from one to the other. A lot of times these news stories making the rounds have an intricate web of original exposure, and Fark is smack in the middle, along with slashdot and some others. So maybe A tells B and C. B posts it on Fark, and meanwhile C tells D who tells E who tells F, who posts on the SDMB.
SkyBum, you’ve been whooshed (unless someone stole the username). RobbieFal has had 553 links posted on Fark, #9 on their all-time list.
And yeah, I don’t mind seeing things on both sites because the conversation styles are very different.
