Login remotely through a US based machine, and get a friend in the US to take the incoming activation phone call.
That’s what I did, and I’m in India. Once activated, you can login and use the service from your local machine.

At the risk of looking like an AOL user saying “ME TOO!” on Usenet in 1997, I’d be interested in an invite as well.
That is strange… I am able to receive email from the SDMB. At least I received the confirmation when I signed up. I also sent a test email from another email account and that went though.

This is my new cell phone, if not my main number. I have family call-ins twice a week that keep me stuck at home or worrying that they won’t try my cell phone. This solves the problem.

The Composer, I went though my SDMB options and “Receive Email from Other Members” was not checked. It is now, so that could have been the problem. I also completely turned off my spam filter.
