I don’t feel guilty, I always tip by doubling the first number in the bill and then adding one if the second number is 5 or higher (example: $33.50 bill gets tipped $6, $38.50 bill gets $7). Whether I had a soda or not isn’t going to affect the tip all that dramatically, adding an extra tip for something I didn’t order seems odd.
I drink 90% well water. I will allow myself an occasional soda or sweet tea as a treat, probably twice a week. And they really do taste sweet when you’re used to water.
I drink a lot of water at work, and I use an infuser carafe.

Today’s choice is orange and blackberry. Tomorrow, I’ll have cantaloupe and cucumber. I have some mint growing by the front door and a sprig of that is good as well. I like a little flavor to my water without sweetner. But I drink unsweetened coffee and iced tea as well as beer and diet coke (not together).
Gawd. I really love Voss. You know the bottle of water that looks like a big bottle of expensive cologne? I especially like to sip on it hanging outside of Whole Foods while people watching. My ability to afford such water increases my mate value a bit, going by the looks of women who pass by.
Ditto, except I use powder packets to mix with plain water.
As for tap water vs. bottled: I drink bottled because our tap water is heavily chlorinated, which irritates my bladder. Since switching to bottled, I haven’t had that problem.
See, I really like the taste of tap water. Bottled water tastes flat to me.
Hells yes. I also look down snootily on people who get tats in a language they can’t even read. Fools!
But I will concede for well water since I have never tasted it. I just really wonder at people who are so dubious at where their (non-well) tap water comes from and drink bottled water, which actually generally has less regulations. Tap water is the most wonderful thing! I visited India quite a few times and lived there for a while, so I even have greater appreciation - there I had to drink boiled water. They don’t just have sulfur, they have cholera.
I hate plain water – it makes me feel queasy. I drink diet soda most of the time but as an alternative, I would drink Powerade Zero, or Crystal Light iced tea or peach tea.
I like the filtered water we get at work. Tap water is all I drink at home now. Both at work and home though, they have to be chilled. Can’t stand just plain room temp water. The big concern at this point is I’ve found these sugar-free juice flavor packets to mix it up (which I totally love, like the aforementioned liquid crack), but they contain aspartame. I figure between work and home, I’m drinking the equivalent of a 12-pack of diet soda with the flavor packets.
At least, I think that’s how it works.
Rarely, I’ve seen 2-liter bottles of bargain brand club soda for around a dollar each- unfortunately my local stores don’t usually carry them. Which is a shame because in hot weather it quenches my thirst much better than soda, but I refuse to buy Canada Dry or other brands that cost twice as much simply to not have any syrup added.
Good luck with pulling an vacuous tart or two.
