Does anyone *not* think this car is Sweet with a capital S?

Au contraire. The 944 Turbo (951) was as fast or faster than various 928 models. Especially, the 1988 951S and 1989 951 (same as 88 951S). The 928s were intended to be more luxury cruiser than nimble sports car, though they could haul it with the best of them. There’s no doubt that they’re more expensive, though, but also more powerful.

The 928 is the best used porsche value in the business. You can buy those suckers used for a song, because most of the real diehard porsche folx are into air cooled rear-or-mid engine. Around here (Chicago area) I regularly see a lot of
mid 80’s 928’s in really really prime condition for way under 20, even saw one last fall, a really pristine example, for 14k.

I love them all, but experience has told me to stay the hell away. When I have a fast car I’m usually only a ticket away from being married to the guy in county who has the most cigarettes.

Personal favorite: 916. Mid engine, so great weight distribution, and the same engine as the Carerra that year. A full tilt blast to drive. Butt about 4" from pavement, top of tires at about shoulder level.

Glad to see the enthusiam for RX-7,s… to see what can be done with them, do a web-search for Adam Saruatari.

Me, I’m hoping to get my Integra GS-R and dump a Jackson supercharger on it… then I go looking for camaro’s and Mustangs to beat up… bwahahahahah!

If you like the car, and you are the one driving it, who cares what other people think?
