Does anyone really like kale chips?

I’ve had them, homemade from kale grown in the cook’s backyard, and they were good. I do get skeptical when something is touted as Da Food Du Jour and you will die of starvation if you don’t eat it.

So, does anybody else genuinely like them?

My dad says he likes them. I don’t mind them but I sure wouldn’t go out of my way for them.

I have made them a couple of times, and genuinely liked them. I think they come out best with dinosaur (lacinato) kale.

Yes.

I like my homemade ones; the commercial ones I tried from a health food store were not as good.

However, I suspect I used more salt and olive oil than recommended from a health standpoint, so of course the homemade ones were good.

I agree. The first time I made them the store only had the pre-chopped curly kale and it turned into fish food flakes by the time I baked, cooled, stored, and tried to eat them. You need something with more integrity.

Yeup. I’ve only had homemade and, like CairoCarol, I’m sure mine are a tad more unhealthy than your typical health food store chip.

I love kale (kale salad) but I find kale chips revolting. Shame really, as I hoped for them to be as enjoyable as the salad.

Love them when I make them at home.

They’re usually pretty good. I prefer to get them at the store rather than making them on my own, but that’s more of a cost & time issue than anything.

My dog likes the way they smell.

We have a vegan friend who gets hers from a store. 'Course, she puts a bit of ground cayenne pepper on them first.

I love them!

I’ve only made them at home. They were surprisingly good, and I used less salt and oil than most.

I like them, but I can’t make them without burning them.

Saw them at the supermarket the other day, never tried them. They re industry me of Marijuana, LMAO!!

You seriously think that the health food store doesn’t use even more salt and oil than you do?

One place in town makes the most divine kale chips…

I made a big batch to share at a picnic last year. They went over very well. I liked them, but that was the only time I’ve ever had them. I really ought to make another batch one of these days.
