Does Christina Hendriks look bigger than normal in these pics?

Jesus.

The woman is obviously gorgeous. She looks gorgeous in those photos. No, she’s not dolled up. She’s just wearing going-to-the-grocery store clothes that aren’t really selected for flattering her figure or fashion. She’s still so fucking hot my eyes are burning. If she walked by me in the grocery store I’d be looking to see if there was a wedding band or an engagement ring and if not I’d be making small talk in ten seconds flat. Maybe she’s not wearing an evening dress but as a heterosexual man, believe me, I can picture what she’ll look like in one, and what she’ll look like is pure hot sex.

When some web site nerd is reduced to insulting a woman as stunningly beautiful as this, you know they’re just making shit up out of jealousy.

Wow, thanks for all the responses guys! I’m glad to know that, in the words of some commentators for that website, I’m not just a “fat pig girl trying to feel better” by complimenting Ms. Hendricks. A few points.

  1. She is on set for a movie where I think she is supposed to be playing white trash, so those are not actually her “grocery store” clothes. Somehow I picture Ms. Hendricks as about as fashion-aware as Joan was (in season 1), so I imagine that she would never look anything other than beautiful and completely occasion appropriate.

  2. I used to also be of the, “skinny jeans for skinny people” school, but lately I’m kind of liking the look on bigger-hipped women. I don’t really know that the hips need something to “balance” them out . . . it’s like wearing a tight shirt if your boobs are your greatest asset. I also think she looks great in those formal dresses that wrap really tightly around the hips and taper down.

  3. I absolutely agree the jacket cut right at the waist is not doing her favors, and she would do better with a long one (if she was picking out her own clothes)

  4. Thesuperficial.com is one of my (many) guilty pleasures, and they snark on pretty much everybody. Although I do think it’s misplaced here.

The hips need ME to balance them out.

I would still hit that so hard that I would walk bowlegged for a week.

Apparently the trick to getting people to deny that you’re fat is to have awkwardly large breasts.

Or to not be fat. Christina Hendricks isn’t “fat” by any standard short of anorexia.

She looks a little bit thick to me. But then I have her same build (large rack and hips) and that’s exactly how I fill out when I’m on the heavier side. The sweater is terribly unflattering for her figure and contributes to making her appear thick. But she looks just as thick (to me) in the pics that are taken from behind her without the sweater, so it’s not just the sweater. She’s a few pounds (probably 10-15) over ideal weight, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing if she’s healthy. She’s probably still within normal BMI range and I’m not that fond of the waif look, either. But compare her to Sofia Vergara, who is also well-endowed and curvaceous, Christina does look thick, although beautiful.

I know I’m probably going to get flamed for this. This comes from a 5’6" woman who has just lost 20 lbs. and still has another 15 to go. I’m a little thick, myself, but I am (now) in normal BMI land, fwiw.

Yeah, I have a similar body type now that I’ve gained some weight - gained a bit in the boobs and a lot in the ass. I’m maybe 10 or 15 pounds over my ideal weight too. I am definitely not fat. (Of course, I have the sense not to wear jeans so tight they make those “crotch rays”, too.)

I think her top cuts off her body too much, and makes her hips look wider than they really are. I do think a slightly looser fit would help, but it’s really the lengths. But it looks better in other shots, so it might just be the angle.

And, no, she isn’t fat, unless someone like Jay-lo is fat. She just has a larger butt than most, and is not accentuating her breasts as much usual with the top. I think she could be dressed better–but since she’s playing a character, I’m actually happy that they picked an outfit that is a little less than flattering on her.

I also don’t think people would be talking that much about her body (or that she would be as successful as she is) if she didn’t have an absolutely beautiful face. She has one of the most beautiful faces I’ve ever seen, and her hair suits that perfectly.

I don’t understand why people keep referring to her as a “bigger girl”. She looks fine to me.

And I’ll be in my bunk.

Bigger girl as opposed to other actresses the viewer is expected to find attractive.

I have no idea who she is, but those pants look a bit tight around the hips with the bunching up lines going on.

To give you an idea, when they have her done up in period drag for Mad Men she looks more like this.

Alternatively, the way to console yourself about someone being way, waaaaaaaaay better looking than you is to pick out whatever may not be ‘perfect’ about them and amplify it in your mind to some sort of monstrosity.

Exactly. “Oh, Angelina Jolie has veiny hands!” And a gorgeous partner, and a beautiful family, and a stunning face, and a bajillion dollars. But yep, you certainly deserve to feel superior, 'cause you don’t have veiny hands.

I think Hendriks is gorgeous, but I also think there’s something courageous* about how she’s really put herself out there with no apologies for her body, not claims of loving herself the way she is followed by a tabloid cover about how she’s lost twenty pounds. I see pics of her and the sexiest thing about her is that look, the one that says “I’m gorgeous, I’m confident, I’m sexy as hell, and you want to pretend you’re not drooling right now? Sure”. I know her body type isn’t to everyone’s taste, but there’s a difference between hotness and sexiness. She’s got sexiness.

*like, low-level courageous obviously, not like running into a burning building to save some kittens, don’t get too hung up on word choice here

This post would make sense to me if it were about Jo Frost. Christina Hendricks’ body so indistinguishable from ideal that it seems absurd to me to make these sort of qualifications about her beauty. Damn!

Hmm, I disagree. Hendricks is probably about eight dress sizes up from a standard fashion model, and about six from most other leading actresses on TV. I think that’s a big distinction. Plus, she’s presented as a sex symbol and judged accordingly, whereas Jo Frost is not.

Well there’s “fashion model ideal” and real ideal, y’know? Ideal as a standard not derived from the tastes of gay fashion designers longing for teenage boys.

I have never seen this woman before, but it is kind of an odd photo. There’s a lot of distance between her face and her breasts, that makes her shape remind me slightly of a bowling pin or something. I don’t think she looks fat at all, my ideal woman is a bit thicker than her.
