Does Entourage get better after the 1st season?

VICTORY! :stuck_out_tongue:

At risk of spoiling last season for you:

Ari puts Lloyd on a 100 day provisional program to become an agent. During the course of the program, his abuse continues to escalate and his requests become more and more outrageous, including adding additional days to the probationaly period “Breakfast Club” style. The abuse reaches its peak with Ari becoming furious with Lloyd oever the phone when he gets rear-ended picking up Ari’s car for him. Lyoyd finally gets fed up, quits, leaves the car abandoned and accepts an offer with Josh Weinstein, Ari’s rival.

By the end of the season, Ari has acquired the company Josh and Lloyd works for. In typical Ari fashion, he roams the halls with a paintball gun litterally “firing” everyone whoever crossed him. Later on, Ari calls Lloyd into his office, having missed him in the rampage. Lloyd assumes he is going to be fired but Ari reconciles with him in front of his staff and makes him a full-fledged agent.

Although the banner is accidently mispelled to say “CONGRATULATIONS! YOU’RE AN ASIAN!” instead of “AGENT”.

Now I suppose someone doesn’t really desearve much praise from finally not acting like a jerk after several years. But it’s still a nice “hug it out bitch” moment.

I think that may be my favorite episode, with Turtle sending the three ladies to appease the geek journalist (played by Rainn Wilson, but clearly modeled on Harry Knowles) and ending at the U2 concert in which Bono gave a shout-out to Drama.

Another favorite was the entitled “One Day in the Valley” in which the boys drove to the San Fernando Valley for the Aquaman premiere, and befriended two pathetic high school nerds. (Also, Vince tries to have his “Almost Famous” moment".)

I think that’s still also my favorite episode.

But ‘three ladies’? - no sir, they are ‘the pussy patrol’. They lick ass by day and kick ass by night.

I also have no idea what kind of strings the producers had to pull to get the U2 performance in the show, but I’d like to know. For those that haven’t seen it, here it is: (turn up the volume)

If Entourage taught me anything, it’s to show respect to Mark Wahlberg’s rolodex.

Matt Damon getting in Vince’s face, for the kids.

I like the show a lot but if you didn’t like season one you won’t like later seasons any better.

i’m curious to know if lady dopers enjoy sex&city more than guy dopers enjoy entourage. it seems only about 50%, if that, of dopers enjoy entouraaaaaaaage

If you didn’t like season one, Entourage is not for you.

Uh… what are you talking about? As far as I’m concerned, the actor that plays Vince is one of the best looking men in Hollywood right now. That man is fookin’ gorgeous.

Maybe it’s just me then. I just don’t see him as leading man material. And especially not as the lead in a superhero movie (as he was in the Aquaman film).

And certainly that doesn’t explain how Eric and Drama manage to get the women that they do. Or how Turtle landed Jamie-Lynn Sigler as a girlfriend.

Except for the fact that JLS is his girlfriend in real life.

That just amazes me to no end. How did that happen?

They’ve already broken up.

Yes, but in real life at least he’s a cast member on a top show. On the show, he’s just the pothead flunky of a B-list celebrity. That’s a little less plausible.

Mrs Shibb thinks that Turtle (or the guy that plays him) is adorable.

Yeah! Because all women - especially really good looking ones - don’t look beyond a guy’s job and his income when looking for mates.

Except by the third season Turtle…

becomes a fairly well respected manager to an up-and-coming rapper

I stopped watching at the end of the third season, but even by the end of the first season, none of them are full-on flunkies to Vince.

You mean Adam Davies, the guy who ratted Ari out to Terrence. Josh Weinstein wasn’t involved in this.

Not only is Entourage not any good, it isn’t even remotely entertaining. It’s not even Sex & the City for guys - it’s easily much worse.

However, it does have the best damn kick-ass theme song of any show of recent vintage: Superhero, by Jane’s Addiction.
