Does Guinness go bad?

Guinness recommend a serving temperature of +4°C according to a book about stout that I once had.

Ok, a couple of questions.

Does Guinness stout vary from batch to batch? Or is it all in the lines?

Does Guinness go stale, more so than other beers (dark and light)? Or is it all in the lines?

Lines don’t matter as much for lager or ale, right? Or no?

Guinness, being one of the Worlds largest beer manufacturers, probably know how to brew with a consistent quality. However, they vary the beer from market to market to better suit local tastes.
