Does it feel like fall yet where you are?

Last week in the UK, we had a bit of a heat wave…over 23 every day. Now it has gone down to 16-18 and everyone has gone from shirtsleeves to puffy coats. The brits do not like to be chilly!

Eastern Tennessee here. 81 as a high today, but the relative humidity is considerably lower than it would have been at the same temperature in July. August was very much cooler than usual, but September has been about the normal range of temperatures. This weekend is supposed to be perfect early autumn weather here with a high of 74F/23C and a low of 56F/13C and a very low probability of rain. That is the beginning of autumn around here. The leaves are just starting to change. Dogwoods first, as usual, with some of the yellow poplar just barely turning.

It is my favorite time of the year.

The old-timers around here say that the coming winter should be long and cold. We shall see.

Temperature has dropped back to “normal” here in Scotland, after the summer heatwave (it never raised above normal much last summer, so this was a bonus).

The trees are starting to go a bit yellow around the edges, and there’s that smell of damp chill in the early mornings that says yeah, autumn’s definitely on the way. Not quite here yet, but give it a fortnight or so.

It’s rainy, cold and grey here in England. Definitely feels like British Summer!

It’s been freaking hot here the last couple of days. Hot enough that I don’t want to go outside (southern Ontario).

It’s supposed to cool off soon. I find myself looking forward to it.

Not in the slightest. Our summer seems to have arrived in September this year, with warmer days than in August. I’m sure we’ll pay for it soon.

Still mid 90s here, but it’s supposed to change by Fri. Always the State Fair time seems to be the crossover.

No. It’s 96 degrees outside right now and hasn’t rained for over a month.

My sinuses were kind enough to inform me of the seasonal change two weeks ago.

Here in NE England we have had a couple of sunny days since that drastic weather change but it was much cooler with a chill in the wind. Undoubtedly autumn.

Florida. BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I have arrived!
Fall is stunningly beautiful in upstate ny, and it has (mostly) arrived. The colors have started changing and the weather has started that lovely semi-cool sort of thing.

Last Thursday night it was 43F!

BUT - today it is 90 degrees for some reason. Just today. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be 82, and on Friday, 64.

Well, up until (but not including) today, it seems. Today it’s partially cloudy and noticeably cooler than we’ve seen all summer until now. (Stanislaus County here, which is northern San Joaquin Valley, approximately directly east from San Francisco.)

Officially, of course, Fall doesn’t begin for another 11 days.

ETA: Oh, and the little kiddies around here started school again last week. All the school buses are out and about, jamming up traffic (even on major thoroughfares) with their blinkin red lights and pop-out stop signs, and the kiddie crossing guards near the schools, and the wolf packs of motorcycle cops waiting to take down any driver who exceeds 25 inches per hour in school zones, etc. If that doesn’t feel like Fall, what does?

It’s cooled down to 93 degrees today in the Memphis TN area with lows in the 70s. Some days we think Fall is here and the next week it’s back up to high-nineties again.

It’s still warm here in Calgary, but the leaves are turning and some have fallen. The sun rise and sun set times are sure noticible right now and are a big sign of fall to me.

In North Carolina it’s felt like fall most of the summer. There’s a neat page on the national weather service site where you can compare this year’s weather with the historic averages. In my area of NC we’ve been pretty much on the low side of normal for temperature and well above normal for rainfall all year.

We had a week or two of lovely cooler weather, but it’s been mid nineties and humid here this week. I have made a point of registering my disapproval with the National Weather Service, but to be quite honest, their service is a bit rubbish when it comes to the weather.

Come on, we’ve had the best summer in about seven years. July was fantastic. August wasn’t bad. But I agree that the current weather feels like most of the past six summers.

Massachusetts is in the same boat. Lovely fall weather for the last week or so, then today it is 91, then the rest of the week is supposed to be highs in the low 70s and high 60s. I can’t wait for the cooler weather!

There have been a couple cool nights but last last couple days it has been up to 90 degrees. So no fall yet although I definitely notice the shorter days.
