What's the weather like where you are? Does it feel like the holidays?

It’s been in the 60’s here. This cannot be December. Just curious to know if anyone else’s Christmas/holiday spirit has been affected by the weather lately.

We had snow on the ground here December 3rd last year. It was gorgeous. I feel cheated with the temperatures here lately :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s really chilly over here, and winter didn’t even start; I wish it were spring already!

We had a warm fall, but it started snowing about a week ago and I don’t expect it to stop for a few months. But then again, I live in one of the 5 cities in the continental US pretty much guaranteed to have snow on Christmas, so I’m not overly worried about it not feeling like the holidays.

Like this.

Oh my god, so freaking cold! In the 40s and 50s during the day lately! I’m pissed- I do not suffer through 110+ degree summers so that I can be cold during the winter! Somebody, make it stop!

Bwahahahahaha!!!

(And it’s not even very cold here!)

:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m coming to stay with you- make room!

It was -29 Monday morning.

Did you check the link?

(We should get up to 40 tomorrow.)

Cold*, sunny and windy instead of hot, sunny and windy… yep, it’s winter! We’ve even had a few days of “miserable, misty and where did the wind go”, of which we only get two-three bouts per winter and which make us appreciate that damned wind. Most people here would rather have wind than mist. Moncayo and the Pyrenees already have snow.

  • no ice yet. Ice means it’s January and the only snowfall in the year usually arrives just after the end of the holidays. Many times I’ve arrived back to college, called to say “hey, the train didn’t crash” and been told “guess what’s falling right now!”

Highs in the upper 80’s and lows in the upper 70’s every day. It’s been pretty nice today, as we’ve had overcast skies all morning. Though I still manage to sweat in the shade.

Oh, crap. And your sun sets at 4:14 pm. Tucson looks good right now! It’s supposed to get back up to the 60’s tomorrow like normal- woo!

Cold, snowy. Dunno if it feels like the holidays; it just feels like winter to me.

And the days are still getting shorter, too.

On the bright side, we only have about five or six more months of rain and drizzle, and the snow isn’t due for a few weeks yet.

Cold as a witch’s cunny. By that I mean probably ca 20 degrees F – not that cold, but for people out on the West US Coast, it’s somepun. And cats laugh when I bring out the scarf, gloves, long coat, hat out here – idiots. When it’s cold, act appropriately!

I’ve been wearing all of that lately. I’d like to wear a ski mask so my whole face would be warm, but I think that might appear to be going too far! I’m not used to the cold.

21C and cloudy today. We’ve been having an incredibly unseasonable run of cool weather - it’s been the coldest start to summer for 100+ years. I was at a *Messiah * rehearsal last night and everyone was wearing jumpers and scarves, which is completely unheard of and felt very odd, since Messiah is such a summery/Christmas piece.

Rain, with very strong winds expected here in Scotland. It’s often wet and windy, but they say these winds will be stronger than normal, an east Atlantic storm. I guess we’ll know in 24 hours.

Monday, we had several inches of snow, and lovely festive flurries.

Today - gale force winds and I think Dorothy and Toto just passed through my attic. :frowning:

(just along the road from PaulParkhead)

Daily highs in the middle 30’s, nightly lows in the low 20’s, a few snow flurries. Either my memory of childhood is hazy (I remember winters being much worse much earlier when I was a kid) or Global Warming has reached central Illinois.
