Hey my grandfather was a plumber, and it kept him employed during the Depression, so plumbing might be a good thing to be into these days. (He was a union member and Democrat, so he wasn’t a real American, of course.)

As for Joe being a tax dodger - looks like anything McCain touches turns to shit, doesn’t it.

I’m still with Joe the Plumber. He’s a true American hero. He hates regulation and wants government off his back. Why should plumbers be licensed? Why should surgeons or electricians be licensed? Why shouldn’t everyone be able to do a shitty job and screw anybody else at their will by pretending to be something they are not? Palin is the poster child, she says she can run the world so why should anyone look at credentials?

Also, this bit about paying taxes is total bullshit. As Leona Helmsley said, “Taxes are for the little people.” JTP wants to be a shaker and mover, why should we burden him with taxes?

As for voting, I lived in Chicago. Vote early and vote often. Forget shit like being being actually registered under your true name.

To make matters worse, the Blade also found that the Ohio Department of Taxation placed a lien against Joe because $1,183 in personal property taxes had not been paid. To pile on, the paper disclosed, based on divorce records, Joe’s 2006 income — $40,000, hardly enough to qualify for the tax hike he’s so concerned about.

I get the impression that this Joe guy was a plant, set up by McCain operatives. But in any case, he was interviewed, and said that Obama was “tap dancing” in his response–“like Sammy Davis.”

Huh? Why Sammy Davis? I guess he did some tap dancing, but that’s not the first person I think of as a tap dancer. Maybe Fred Astaire?

In my observation, that’s the typical Republican right there. Thinks he’s going to be rich one day, carps about taxes he’s never going to owe. When he fails to get rich, he claims it’s because the Democrats provided a disincentive by raising his future taxes. He sits back, cracks a beer, and blames minorities and illegal immigrants.
