I have noticed that in Playboy magazine, all of the models have their pubic hair neatly clipped in one of three ways: a narrow strip, a small triangle, or completely shaved. I have never seen a variation from these three basic styles.
How do they achieve such uniformity of pubic hair styling?
Do they send a style guide to the models so that they can be sure to arrive at the photo shoot with properly groomed pubic hair?
Or is there a stylist on hand to shave, trim, and clip the models’ pubic hair?
Since hairiness is considered unattractive in American modeling, the Playboy models probably trim themselves to begin with, at least to bikini-line limits. Playboy might have a stylist that gives them a trim, but they’re probably most of the way there once they’re picked to be photographed.
Besides a possible stylist on the shoot, the uniformity might come from the prevailing shape of bikini bottoms. Narrow ones probably encourage the strip style. Completely shaved either comes from frustration over maintaining a shape and/or kinkiness.
There are sources for looking at untrimmed ladies, whose hairiness spreads clear to their gluteous maximus and navels.
What I want to know is how the folks at Victoria Secret get the models to leave their nipples at home.
I bet if they forget to leave them at home, there’s a small glass bowl near the photographer where they have to place their nipples until all the shots are taken.
The models aren’t too smart, so I bet sometimes they forget to put them back on.
What do they do with all the lost & found nipples, Green Bean?
I have often wondered the same thing, Sake. Do you think that some unscrupulous photographer might make off with the supermodel nipples and try to sell them on Ebay?
I think that the real answer is that they put flesh-colored patches of some sort between the nipple and the see-through bra so that the nipple does not show–it just looks like skin. I might be wrong about that, though.
Of course, they can do marvelous stuff with airbrushing these days, too.
At a recent trip to a local “Gentlemen’s Club” one of the dancers asked my friend what he did for living. Before he could answer, she said “…and don’t tell me you’re a gynecologist or a barber!”
We had a good laugh over that one. As you probably guessed, those were the answers he alwaysgave! Mr originality, he aint!
BTW, it’s good to be back. This is my first post in over a month.
Actually ** Enright, ** that’s what drew me to the topic, seeing * your name * as the last poster in this ‘topical issue’. It’s nice having you back, were you testing your self-control. A la: ‘I can quit anytime I want to’, kind of thing? So, you’re back having proven that you can leave us all behind, what a provocative way to come back in to the board!!
Hey, come on guys (no pun intended), you know very well they use post production computers to alter images…waytoo easy. I mean Im sure some of you have used Photoshop.
While shopping with my girlfriend we went into an Express store. They have gigantic posters all over the place with pictures of their models half nude. Not one for women’s clothes shopping, I was admiring these posters and looking for the artistic element in them when I noticed that all the bra models had their nipples blurred out using Photoshop, or some similar computer image editing program. Now I have turned this into a mini research project and have started looking for this and have noticed that many pictures in Victoria Secret and other lingerie magazines use this technique also. Of course this is one research project that my GF does NOT approve of.
Insofar as catalog models, for a long, long time the aurbrush, and now the Photomanipulation software, have been called to discreetly conceal nipples – as well as any blemishes on the model. Retouching over “defects” is also the standard practice with centerfolds in your better-quality skin mags.
Insofar as the, um, subanterior tonsorial stylings of the featured Playboy/Penthouse model, I dare guess that the majority of the ladies, being by choice of career or lifestyle frequent wearers of extremely skimpy swimsuit/lingerie bottoms, are already regulars at the waxing salon. Ocassionally you may spot something closer to normality in one of those “The Girls Of . . .” features, though.
I haven’t looked at them for years but don’t they usually edit the pubic hair so if a woman has blond hair on top of her head shes going to have blond hair down there too?
No Handy, they usually don’t make that kind of modification. Many, many times there are bleached blondes with dark pubic hair. Most notably of the recent centerfolds - none other than Ms. Jenny McCarthy. I mean, she was bright blonde up top and dark brown down under. Big contrast.
In my bachelor days I subscribed to The Playboy Channel on cable. I recall watching one of these “on location” photo shoots where one guy was actually trimming the pubic hair of the models. Man, did he have a smile on his face! My room-mate and I agreed that that was the ideal job.
