Based on my TV schedule on Dish Network, it looks like the World Cup just… begins, with Brazil vs. Croatia. No hullaballoo beyond the routine pre-game flag-waving and whatnot.

I stand corrected. I was correct that there’s not a separate night dedicated to Opening Ceremonies and a parade of nations,but there is the musical performance and ceremonies mentioned in the link above.
