My son told me he received a call on April 30th from the dealership manager. It seems they received a visit from the consumer affairs division of the state DOT, in response to the complete we filed.
The dealer manager admitted that the ad was misleading, but insisted it wasn’t intentional.
The manager said the ad was being pulled. He offered the car with the advertised stock number (the one without the 6 cyl. engine) for less than the advertised price, but would not make an offer on one with the 6 cyl… Kid turned them down.
But he still hasn’t bought a car yet. Can’t decide WTF he wants.
Note that as of this post the linked ad lists #41675 as an “all new 2007 Chryler Sebring Touring with automatic transmission, air conditioning, power windows, door locks, CD” for $14,777.
That was confusing. Not just that the ad didn’t have much to do with what you said in post 1. But I remember a few months ago you where complaining about Schlossmans. I was just about to dig up the old post and ask why you keep going back.
BTW, who did you complain too? If more people did this, we’d have much more honest car dealerships, if you weren’t the first person to complain about it, they may have been fined as well.
I just want to thank pkbites & Co. for calling out the dogs on the dealership and then turning down the offer since it wasn’t what they wanted. Nice work!
