Does Wikipedia have an article on your high school?

Hey, Earl Haig! I didn’t know it’d been torn down, that’s really sad…

Yes. And no, I’m not one of the famous alumni mentioned.

Yes, a brief article with no picture.

I wish I could find some info to add. Might take a look at a yearbook sometime.

Nope. It has a disambiguation page for the name but neither listing is my school.

Ae

Yes, but I’m not going to link to it.

Cookie Kwan. Stay out of the west side!

Ack! Wrong thread! Sorry.

Yes, ETHS.

Only as part of “High Schools of San Diego

The sentence “The school was originally intended to be in its own school district, but could not separate from the San Diego Unified School District, hence the school being named after the famous orator Patrick Henry” startles me; I have never seen or heard anything about it being “originally intended to be in its own school district…” I have no clue if that is or is not accurate.

Oddly, yes.

Though they leave a lot of the more interesting details of the school out.

Yes, most notably for:

Oddly, yes.

Well Waddaya know! I was really surprised to see that the main entrance has been given a facelift and the aerial photo shoes the school being 1/3 bigger.

I hit the link to the schools own web page and found it interesting how much things look the same as far as the snotty kids go. Alas, there were so few faculty names that I recognized.

Now, the school is 30% asian, which started during my time there. But I thought it less than sensitive that the school nickname is “Won Ton.”

Here she be. I have a vague recollection of an Alma Mater Lyric Contest won by a friend of mine, but I don’t think the School Song posted there is his–as I remember it, his song could be quite easily sung to the tune of “Oh Susannah”.

And I can’t believe our claim to fame is that Joe Piscopo went there. sigh

Hmmm, I checked my elementary school, my middle school, and my high school.

Batting 0 for 3.

Sure does. Oldest high school in Southern California.

And I’ve known about most of the famous alumni, but I’m not sure how I ever missed the fact that the Mayor of DC is an alumnus.

Toby Bailey, who had a stellar basketball career at UCLA before flaming out due to injuries in the NBA, graduated from there a year after me. Really nice guy, and put on some pretty cool dunk displays during our school rallies.

No, but the alumni have their own message board.

Uni, home of the [del]Warriors[/del], I mean Wildcats.

The school I graduated from is mentioned in a couple of lists (which isn’t surprising, considering it shares a name with a famous fictional school) but doesn’t have its own article. One of the other schools I went to is in a similar list and the third doesn’t seem to be mentioned at all.
