Picked up a cake last night for a friend’s birthday. Was leaning heavily toward the German chocolate tort, until out of the corner of my eye I glimpsed the Wisconsin Dream Cake.
It was a chocolate-covered dome of deliciousness. Slicing into it revealed that it was made of a single layer of dark chocolate cake and the dome was made of some sort of whipped cream-like confection. It would be like if you took a Little Debbie swiss cake roll, unrolled it, made the cake round and three inches thick and mounded more filling on top to a height of about 8-9 inches. Then covered it in melted chocolate.
After eating a piece and recovering from the diabetic coma, we got to wondering, why is it a “Wisconsin” dream cake? Any ideas? Does your state have its very own dream cake? Tell us about it!
