Dog Days of Spring

In a thread in General Questions, LabRat taught me about this great site about dogs:

Dog Breed Information Center

One of the features I liked at this site was the Breed Selector. Click on this link, and report back what breed of dog was selected for you! You can view it as a doggy personality test, based on what kind of dog is suggested for you.

Here’s what I ended up with:

Bedlington Terrier
It has been described as a dog with the heart of a lion and the appearance of a lamb. With his pear-shaped head, arched back and curly coat, the Bedlington Terrier in fact does look like a little sheep. … They are loyal, lively and headstrong. … Usually they can get along with other dogs but keep them away from those that want to dominate, as once challenged they are terrifying fighters, despite their gentle appearance. A little powerhouse, it is courageous and energetic, with the ability to run very fast.

Xoloitzcuintle
The Xoloitzcuintle, also called the Mexican Hairless or Tepeizeuintli, resembles a robust Manchester Terrier. … It has a broad skull and a long muzzle with a black or flesh-colored nose. The slightly almond-shaped eyes are medium-sized with a color that may vary from black to yellow, and have a lively, intelligent expression. … The Xoloitzcuintle is a very intelligent, affectionate dog. Peaceful, noble and extremely adaptable. Cheerful with the family and reserved with strangers. Xoloitzcuintle dogs get along well with children. They are happy, though calm without fear. They make good alarm dogs - noisy only when necessary. They cannot bark, but instead let out a sound like a howl. … Xoloitzcuintle are natural vegetarians, but convert to a meat diet quite easily.

Your turn to share!

(P.S. If I did get a dog, I would probably go for a mutt from the pound like most people, but still it’s fun to see what kind of furry friend could be in your future).

Exactly as I suspected:

Which confirms my belief that I am just not a pet person…

Thanks for the great link!

Wisdom is the boobie prize, they give you when you’ve been --unwise!

I tried to cook the answers so it would come up with the dog(s) we do have – 2 dachshunds – but it kept coming up with yorkies and the bizarrely named labradoodles.

Looks like we’ll have to get rid of them.

I got exactly the same answers as Arnold (mon frere!).

Do you suppose the site is run by a Xoloitzcuintle dealer?

Catrandom

Go to a vet that’s also a taxidermist. Either way, you’ll get your cat back. Sig courtesy of the amazing WallyM7

West Highland White Terrier Now, this one’s kinda cute.

But, I think I’d still rather get a cat.

I just washed my cat. It’ll take me hours to get the hairs off my tongue.

They told me a basset hound or a beagle would be best, we have TWO black and white English Springer Spaniels, I just * hate * telling they have to find another home!
But, ya gotta do, whatcha gotta do!

“Muck should replace ‘suck’. For ‘muck’ is yucky, while ‘suck’ feels very lucky. So, don’t stay stuck on suck, switch to MUCK, today.”

Thats a pretty interesting site. I got American Bandogge Mastiff and Cocker Spaniel. Since I already have a Cocker Spaniel, this works out pretty well.

Now if you’ll pardon me, I suddenly have the urge to go play with my dog.
