Dogwoods, Amen at the Corner, and Green Jackets: It's Masters Time!

Thats not stupid. When Tiger first came up I proclaimed he was over rated and over hyped. I added that he would be just another pro golfer. I may have been wrong.

Big ol’ 72 fer tigger

We’ve seen him make up 7 before, and he’s got two rounds to do it. It’s not over yet, but he needs to go low on Moving Day.

This would be his biggest comeback in a major after 36 holes. Not to say he can’t do it,but I don’t think it will happen.

So - what odds would it take to get you to bet that Tiger ends up outside the top 5? :stuck_out_tongue:

A few years back a was a big Chad Campbell fan - but his performance the last couple of years has cooled my enthusiasm. He’s got a ton of game and a good attitude. I hope he’s able to hold it together.

Tiger’s sure got his work cut out for him, tho. The 12 guys ahead of him include a wide range of guys, from tried and true vets like Furyk and Perry, to young guns like Kim and Baddley. Cabrera, Clark, Stricker, Mahan, Ames - not exactly slouches. Even Hamilton has a major. Hard to imagine ALL the guys ahead of him fading over the next 2 days. But its happened before!

  1.

He is only 3 shots out of the top 5 at the moment…what odds will you give?

How did Billy Mayfair qualify for the Masters? He didn’t qualify last year, he hasn’t won in at least five years, and he finished 60th in the one major that he qualified for (PGA) last year. He seems like an odd guy to be in there.

Produced four top 10 finishes in 2008 on the PGA TOUR which gives him this qualifier- 16. Those qualifying for the season-ending 2008 Tour Championship

Appropo of nothing…whatever happened to David Duval? Remember a few years ago when he was considered an elite player? His career just fell off a cliff. Is he still even on tour anymore?

He has played this year, but yeah…he totally lost his game.

He was a local boy for me here-he got injured right in the middle of his prime years, and has never gotten it back. Damned shame.

Stick a wedge in him. Tiger is done. He can not come back from this. I hope he gets close enough to have them look back and worry, but it does not look likely.
Perry has it won.

Double bogey fer Woods to start round 3.

So much for the Paddy slam also, gets a 9 on 2nd hole.

Tiger comes back to be -4 going to 18. If he birdies it he will definitely be in it tomorrow.

I told you to watch out for Angel Cabrera.

Well, Tiger and Phil, whom I believe will be paired tomorrow, will both have to shoot some low number-66 at worst I’d say, 64 preferably.

Tiger and Phil, paired together on a Sunday, at a major. Too bad they don’t really have much of a chance.

65 won’t be enough. 64 at a minimum. My guess is they would need a 63. It’s doable: Jack should have shot 63 in '86, with the 30 he had on the back side.

Early scores are not low. That is not promising.

What is the farthest position back anyone has been after 54 holes to win the Masters? Or any major? Not just score, but position. You could theoretically be 1 stroke back and be in 10th place.

I saw that Tiger and Phil were tied for 10th (among others). Has anyone ever come back from 10th place to win?
