I’ve had a friend from Virginia here visiting me this week. We have done West Edmonton Mall, visited the dolphins, shopped until my feet are sore, eaten way too much food, and have had a great time.
Last nite was the final coup…After going out for supper we decided to go to the casino. We get there and I head for the quarter slots. She watches me as I get excited winning 200 quarters fairly quickly, then wanders off to another machine.
A few minutes later I hear her yelling SUE SUE SUE. Looking around the corner I realize she is sitting at the dollar slots and she says “this lady says I won 1,000.00”.
Sure enough, she had put 20.00 into the dollar slots thinking it was the same machine as I was playing and she won 1035.00 on her third spin. Wooohooo a stroke of luck.
On the way home it occurred to me, when she heads back to Virginia tomorrow morning on her 6:30 a.m. flight ahem…she will convert her money back to American and will come out with about 750.00 U.S. which basically covers her whole trip. Not a bad way to spend fifteen minutes.
Gotta love vacation.
