DOJ/Jack Smith Investigation into Trump and Election Interference, January 6th Insurrection (Re-Indicted August 27, 2024)

It sure is.

Jenna Ellis isn’t even part of this lawsuit. Her involvement to date is solely related to the Georgia case, which has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.

Please take this discussion elsewhere, as you have offered to do. Next time, just start the new thread. Thanks.

Okey, dokey.

Will do.

Sorry for the hijack

Y’know, reading this kind of stuff in the middle of an Archer binge-watch is really sort of entertaining.

It’s NOT a conservative ideology. It’s a radical reactionary ideology.

ETA: The rest of that sentence is pretty much spot on.

I’ve opened up a separate thread to discuss this hijack over here

I have no idea where to post this. Trump wanted to overturn the 2020 election, so that would be Jan. 7th and beyond. The article mentions that Trump’s decision to attempt a coup is central to Jack Smith’s cases against him, so that’s this thread. Obviously, he attempted to coerce Georgia into flipping the election for min, so that’s that thread. Anyway, I’m posting here.

“It was my decision, but I listened to some people,” Trump told NBC’s “Meet the Press” in an interview that aired Sunday. …

“You know who I listen to? Myself. I saw what happened,” Trump said.

The former president said he didn’t listen to his attorneys who told him he lost the election because he didn’t respect them… ‘But I did respect others. I respected many others that said the election was rigged.’

You know what you call things you say on national television? Evidence. Thank the gods the man doesn’t know when to shut up.

Thanks for thinking about it. It belongs in the Election Interference thread or the January 7th and Beyond thread, not this one. Trump’s claims about election interference have nothing to do with his withholding documents from the DOJ.

In future, if you aren’t sure where to make a post, you can always ask for moderator guidance first.

There’s another thread? Yeesh. I didn’t know about it. Will you move my post there (perhaps without the preamble)?

Yes, there are many threads (there are many crimes) and yes, I will move the post. However, I can’t edit it. I mean, I can, but it’s against our rules.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for moving it. Apparently I did know about this thread, but I thought I was posting in the January 7th & Beyond thread all this time. Too many crimes, too many investigations…

Just think how the prosecutors feel.

Ray Epps, a victim of Tucker Carlson’s Jan 6th theories, has been charged by the DOJ. He’s been claimed by Tucker and others to have been an FBI agent or plant on the day of the insurrection, stories which allegedly disrupted his life. If he gets a short sentence or something else that seems “suspicious”, I’m sure the screams of “Deep State” will be earsplitting. There is some suggestion that he might be working on a plea deal.

They never have had a lead on the person who put down those pipe bombs on the day, have they? I’m not suggesting it was him, just curious.

If you haven’t seen the 60 Minutes interview with Epps, you might want to check it out. I have no sympathy for the man, but he was trying to stop the idiots from rushing the police line and battering the cops.

Since he was charged with a single misdemeanor, the screams have already started.
Spoiler……they are more convinced than ever that he’s a federal agent. The arrest proves it!

It has already started.

This is an understandable mix-up, but this post and those following warrant a separate thread. It’s not related to the Smith investigation into Trump except in the most tangential way. Since this is a narrow thread, let’s put any further discussion into the existing more general thread:

Or start a new thread if you want more narrow discussion on this topic only. If you want a narrow thread, I’ll move these posts to it.

Thanks.

Thank you very much for the merging. I’d forgotten about the “pure” Jan 6th thread, and this would fit in there better, as you suggested.

To be clear, are you starting a new thread or do you just want these moved to the existing thread? I offered to move them to a new thread, not the existing one.

The reason is because I don’t want to get the practice started that mods are constantly moving posts to different threads because posters didn’t take care to post in the right thread to begin with. We could spend all day every day doing that, and it’s not a good use of our time.

For now, I’m already late for an appointment, so I must let it be until I get back late this afternoon. Another mod can handle it, though, if you decide to start a new thread. Just PM either @What_Exit or @raventhief or both.

Oh, of COURSE this happens to posts about … Ray Epps!!

Judge has denied trump’s request for recusal. Next decision should be on the “gag order”.
