Which leads to this question: how did Topher make Priya come back?
All they had on file for her was a brain scan of when she was so messed up with drugs she acted like a dellusional schizophrenic. So when they reimplanted that scan back into her, wouldn’t the brain activity of the time also come back?
Or are we to believe that they can take that stuff out? “Cure” her.
If that’s the case, then instead of curing her, or even attempting to cure her, they kidnapped her and forced her to work for The Dollhouse for at least a year without her consent. Fun times.
And, if they have the technology to cure something as serious as, well, all mental disorders…what the fuck are they doing as a glorified escort service? Do you know how many hundreds of billions of dollars they can make on that technological use alone just by going legit?

I dunno. Even in her whacked-out state, she’d have her memories, and once the drugs wore off there wouldn’t be anything to sustain the schizophrenia?

It’s really the conundrum at the heart of the show. Can you really overlay a personality onto a brain? The brain’s physical structures are already there, so what is “personality” or “knowledge” anyway?

This episode was just shown over in the UK and though I’d been slightly spoiled that a sharp object was involved, the episode is ranking very highly in my mind. Topher’s vulnerability and DeWitt’s mothering of him was brillient.

One thing though(spoilers for Epitaph One)

I am unsure if the future is still leading to the Epitaph One point. It’s the number that is putting me off believing that, as at the end of this season we could have an Epitaph Two. With the same or smiliar characters as last time in a different future.
