Interviewer: “How long does it take to style your hair?”
Dolly: “I don’t know; I’m never there when it’s being done.”

From here:
At the time of her death, Parton reportedly had more than 350 wigs (one for almost every day of the year), more than 2,000 pairs of shoes and a 50,000-square-foot archive of bedazzled stage outfits.
The Nashville Airport Authority has approved renaming the Nashville airport after Dolly Parton.
Ah, they should change the letter code to NDP.
Nothing against Col. Harry S. Berry, the B of BNA. And I do like calling the airport ‘banana’. Still, if you’re changing it, change it!
Seriously, it should have been named after her during her life. Post-death, it seems a total given.
Much better to name airports after artists rather than politicians.
Last year there was a bill that proposed naming the Nashville airport after a politician. Fortunately it didn’t go through.
A sad turn of events:
A Tennessee judge has granted a restraining order for Dolly’s estate, against her nephew Bryan Seaver. Seaver was her longtime security chief, and who recorded the video which publicly announced Dolly’s death last month, on behalf of the family.

It’s not surprising that a estate that large has family scrambling for their piece.
It’s a very large family. The trusts should have been set up long before Dolly got ill. But, people tend to put that off
Dollywood alone probably generates a lot of money every year.
I have close friends that stopped by Dollywood on their vacation. They came back very happy and mentioned how clean and well run it is. Staff is very, very friendly.
They mentioned Aunt Granny’s Restaurant has excellent southern fried chicken and corn pudding.
My family and I hope to go next Spring.
Do you know that she didn’t make estate plans, including whatever trusts she felt necessary? It may be that she did but that this nephew wants more.
Given that she was a canny businessperson and a very wise person, I would be absolutely stunned if the trust and other legal provisions were set up by her and her advisors long ago.
I wouldn’t be surprised that Dolly did make prior arrangements. Reports say she was very business minded.
I know from personal experience that money can bring out the worst in people.
This much is very true.
It’s hard to say for certain, of course, but the news story suggests to me that Seaver suddenly discovered that his role – and income – was going to be far less than it had been before Dolly’s passing, and that sent him off the deep end.
Are you missing a not?
Are you missing a not?
Alas, yes. facepalm

I mean:
She’s Alive, the entity founded to manage and protect Parton’s estate,
The inherent comedy of calling the entity administering her estate “She’s Alive” aside, she clearly had made plans because the entity exists in the first place.
Sadly, I’ve known families to tear themselves apart over much smaller estates than this. It’s too bad, but unfortunately not terribly surprising.
Aside: Dollywood is well worth a visit.
god brings death, the devil brings heirs.
Nashville has made today Dolly Parton day. I guess there are fireworks and stuff. I heard about it earlier and didn’t realize why it is September 25th. It’s 9/25 or 9 to (two) 5.

Nashville is celebrating Dolly Parton’s legacy Friday with citywide events, food and drink specials, fundraising efforts and a 9:25 p.m. fireworks show.Nashvill
