Sure, OP, knock yourself out.
Wait, you can’t?
Now they tell me…
Well, I didn’t say they have to. Usually you sign a waiver that says anything they take off you belongs to the pathology dept. You can ask for it back, but no guarantee that you’ll get it.
Though now I’m curious… making stock from a hip bone, technically not cannibalism… I wonder how it might be…
Made me look - I didn’t realize that cannibalism required eating flesh. But make sure you clean that bone off before throwing it in the pot.
That’s what strainers are for.
Here’s the thing, if my brother needs a kidney transplant and I, his sis, am a perfect match, no one can force me to give it. Even if his life hangs in the balance. Because it’s my body and I have body autonomy.
Oh, and it even extends to corpses, you can NOT be harvesting organs, even to save lives, without my permission. Even when I’m a corpse!
If you’re cool with these two examples then the state ought have no say in my body autonomy. My body, my call. Get lost!
(OP can eat what they wish.)
I read somewhere about someone doing this recently. I think with their leg.
One problem is that people can take a lot of medication that might render the meat unsafe. We restrict what you can give to cattle, for instance. I recall this being an issue with horse meat.
Seriously though, I have relatives who don’t understand the concept of fetal cell lines…they think vaccine manufacturing involves backing a truck up to the local abortion clinic.
ETA: Here is a Snopes article about the guy who ate bits of his amputated foot, along with links to a Vice interview and some icky pictures.
The only thing that would make this poster a more obvious troll would be - nope, can’t think of anything.
Okay, stupid as this entire thread is, this is even stupider. There is nobody who doesn’t think that human fetus isn’t made of human flesh. It can be argued not to be flesh belonging to a human other than the mother, but it’s still clearly human flesh, in the same way that your appendix is made human flesh. Your appendix ain’t a person, but it’s still made of human meat.
Eating a fetus that never reached the point of developing into a separate person is still eating human flesh. Obviously.
not bad sig.
Upbeat quadroplegic girl AMA
Well, sure, now it would be.
I bite and swallow my fingernails, it grosses some people out. I really don’t want you chewing on them when they are attached to me but my toenails in the rubbish bin? Goferit. I’ll think you odd but move along. Same with your proposal.
I agree – like eating placenta IMO.
Instead of wasting expensive pharmaceuticals to kill murderers, why not just roast the criminal on a spit? Let the victims’ relatives or other concerned citizens feast on the remains. It could be a profit-making venture for the state; don’t you think some people would pay $1000+ for Murderer Steak? For Rapist Stew? I think the state is remiss in its fiduciary duty to taxpayers not to seize this opportunity.
Some parts of the corpse would be too precious to eat. Any Ebay’ers here? What’s the going rate for Murderer’s Testicles, in fair condition?
For that matter, why limit feasts to criminals? Having trouble coming up with the funds to bury or cremate Grandma? She’d appreciate knowing her decease was a financial boon rather than burden.
No, you may not burn people to death but other than disease concerns I really don’t mind what happens to non living flesh so long as I don’t need to partake and all who loved Grandma are cool with it.
Well, there are ways to get around those high funeral costs. Just sayin’, don’t look too closely at the compost pile out back.
That’ll teach me to not read the consent forms all the way through.
Now that you bring it up, I’ve never seen pork stock at the supermarket (there’s a reason they call it “long pig”). Maybe throw it into a pot of beans instead…
