Donald Trump gets hero's welcome at Army/Navy football game.

Overall, would you rate this article less or more fake than the UVA rape story they published?

Unlike Faux News, Alex Jones and the rest of that ilk, Mother Jones regretted and apologized for the bad reporting.

Overall, I’d say that the editorial opinion of Rolling Stone magazine has no weight whatsoever on my belief that the Trump administration is and will continue to be a complete and total dumpster fire.

Out of curiosity, what does Mother Jones have to do with a fake news article, published by Rolling Stones?

So, I Googled coverage of the Army/Navy game. It mentioned Trump getting cheered, but a “hero’s elcome” was not used. (No, the cadets would hardly be rude in that setting.) Mostly, his disdain for the football to be played was mentioned.

But that’s just ESPN. The folks at Breitbart seemed to be creaming their jeans at his supreme alpha masculinity…

Cadets and midshipmen are subject to the UCMJ, but Trump isn’t president yet and Article 88 doesn’t apply to a president-elect, since that isn’t an actual official position.

But knowing Trump, if any cadets or mids had made even a meager public protest against him, he would find out their names, go on Twitter and criticize them personally, and once in office, order their active duty professors to give them failing grades.

So Trump got a hero’s welcome. I’ll assume it’s true. It does not surprise me. After hearing the surprising news that American idiots have elected him to be President, I don’t see myself being surprised with any other Trump news.

Normally, that might be OK. Who doesn’t like watching a good fire?

Trouble is, we live in that dumpster!

Some active military folks and veterans support him. Others, including me, do not. The OP is stupid.

Yes. Majority = the greater number.
Majority is brought to you today by the letter “M.”

Let’s look at the numbers. 2016 popular vote totals;

Hillary: 65,737,061 48.07%

Trump: 62,896,705 46.00%

Now, using simple math, let’s see which number is the larger, or greater of the 2. Yes, it’s Hillary’s total. She got the majority.

Thank you letter “M,” you were wonderful.

I agree, in fact, that’s is kind of what I said. My point was that they would cheer him because they had no choice, while silently condemning him as a pathological lying piece of shit, because Honor Code and all that.

I think you’re wrong here; when discussing elections, “majority” refers to greater than 50%. What you’re referring to is “plurality”. In my understanding, at least.

It’s not just elections. It’s the definition of the word (i.e., > 50%). If 4 of 10 people in a group are white, 3 of 10 are black, 2 of 10 are Hispanic, and 1 is Asian, would it make sense to say the majority of people in the group are white? No.

First of all, AIUI, the cadets do not tolerate *other cadets *who lie, cheat or steal. The oath isn’t about people *outside *the academy.

Second, unanimity is often hard to come by. Since you’re betting that *all *the cadets who Trump greeted loathed him, I’ll wager that, on probability, at least one thought well of him.

All objective evidence points to a significant number of cadets, quite possibly a majority, supporting Trump. I thought folks were exaggerating about these conservatives who won’t accept data and actual news stories which conflict with their established beliefs, but here we are seeing it happen live!

Perhaps more cadets and military as a whole lean Republican. Those people who are motivated to join the services probably come from demographics more likely to support Republicans. Who cares? We suck the military’s collective dick enough in the US, I don’t give a flying fuck if every one of them voted for the orange sleazebag, their opinion carries zero weight with me.

Oh please. Are you fucking serious? This is the American military not the fucking North Korean military. When US troops don’t like a President they have no qualms about saying so.

I have no trouble believing the majority of cadets supported trump. I’m surprised people here have trouble with that. Talk about willful blindness.

The military types always support Republican presidents. Even when said support goes against their best interests.

It seems they love going off to fight, and don’t seem to associate the results of such fighting (death, maiming) with the idiot government that sent them there in the first place. Nor do they associate lack of proper medical care, lack of support for them after the fighting, with the same Republican government. “Support the troops” appears to mean something different to them than it does to me.

So Obama, who got us out of Iraq, on whose watch bin laden was actually killed, is a bad President who does not support the troops. But Bush, who started the damn war in the first place, is a hero. Go figure.

You should read the pinhead comments in the facebook posting of the “Trump at the Army Navy game” article. The amount of trump worship, and Obama hate, and cognitive dissonance, and hypocrisy, almost made me bust a blood vessel in my brain.

I’ve worked with Army types who though Palin was the best thing to hit Washington ever. So, no, I have no trouble believing Cadets love trump.

Did your brain also suffer any potential injury from Morgenstern’s apparent inability to see this?

That is, if cognitive dissonance is a threat to your brain, I am wondering if you agree that Morgenstern is exhibiting that here, and what your reaction was.

Wrong. The greater number is the plurality. A majority is more than half.

A majority would be more than 50%. Hillary got a plurality of the popular vote. Nobody got a majority.
